Rayo Puño
So I just got a new NES, with duck hunt and the gun of course. Well, the gun doesn't really work, anywhere I shoot the tv, it just registers as a miss. And when I try to select the game by shooting off screen, nothing happens at all. I've tried cleaning it with a cloth, adjusting the brightness and sh*t a little bit, turning the lights off, and still nothing. How do I make it work? dertyjerzian
you have a flat tube or flat panel or projection tv, dont you? Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/280813-need-help-with-nes/#findComment-4280003 Share on other sites
Rocketkiller
They work with non-flat tubes as well. I've never tried it with a flat tube but it worked perfectly with a curved tube, so it's not the TV. I'm guessing something is screwed up with the gun. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/280813-need-help-with-nes/#findComment-4280187 Share on other sites
Vanzant
Is there any indication that it's working at all? When you fire it does any thing at all happen on the screen? White box? Flash? If nothing happens I suggest buying a new Zapper, they are pretty cheap on Ebay. If there is any indication it works and it still misses it means the IR laser is messed up. You might be able to find a way to fix it easily somewhere on a tutorial site. Rayo Puño
No I know it doesn't work with HDTVs, but it's a standard old CRT. Hit I shoot it shows the white box, so it's working (somewhat at least), just not hitting the damn ducks. Vanzant
Ok, so it's the IR laser, it could just be offset from being dropped or mishandled. I would just get a new one or you could try taking it apart and check the lens (clean both sides) and make sure the Emitter isn't out of place. Venom
Too many knocks and those plastic guns get knackered.. Had to chuck mine out since it didn't work. I'd advise getting a new one, besides, they are quite cheap now. Rayo Puño
Yeah, looks like a new one is in store. Oh well, it'll be worth it. Playing the NES is so much fun though, Super Mario 3 was the f*cking tits.
