how to backup files?

can anyone tell me how to backup the gta3.img file and the gta.dat file?

help will be appreciated

Right its quite easy, without the game or any other tool that might access these files running.

 

Create a folder within the models folder, call it Backup

 

Click on GTA3.img, right click and choose copy. Open your backup folder, right click paste, this will take a few minutes.

 

Once that is done, go back to the models folder, click on GTA_INT.img, right click choose copy, open your backup folder, right click, click paste, again this will take a few moments.

 

You need to backup both of these as they relate to each other.

 

For the gta.dat file.

 

Open your data folder up, create a new folder within it, call it backup. Click gta.dat, right click and choose copy, go into the Backup folder, right click, paste.

 

And there we go, the three files are now backed up.
