Started playing Test Drive Unlimited 2 on PC. Got it from the Steam sale. Also picked up a few others, but haven't really scratched the surface yet :D

I was rocking it old school with Gran Turismo 2 last night. Haven't played it in about 10 years so I thought I'd get it as it got it from a game traders.

Still the best Gran Turismo IMO.

Is it a coincidence or not that I have been playing GT2 as well recently?

I agree that GT2 was the best GT along GT4. The recent GT's lack that that soul and spirit of motorsport that PS1 and PS2 GT's have. I wish GT7 will have that magic back. That's why I moved to Forza for quite a while. Lol. Also do you miss the city menus of GT1, GT2 and GT3 A-Spec? I love the small touch and the UI's in the classic Gran Turismo's were the best IMO.

Gotta love this intro from GT2:

I liked GT6, but wasn't a fan of GT5. GT3 was actually my first ever PS2 game. Still have it somewhere, but playing GT2 again has brought back so many memories.

It was one of those games I played all the time when I was kid in 99/00 and it was most likely one of the contributing factors to me being a real life car nut lol.

The graphics don't bother me and it still has great physics even by today's standards. Hell the tuning and car list is still impressive. I agree though GT7 needs to get back to its roots. Something I've noticed too is how simplistic the gameplay is, but is by no means handholding. There's no flashbacks/rewinds or any of that sh*t. You can't even restart.

Basically it's from a time when games were challenging. I have to admit I thought I was a pretty good racer, but it's kicked my ass a few times already. Hard to believe it's 16 years old.

I gotta get my 360 back from my cousin to play some GTA IV, really craving that game. But, I've been playing Destiny and Just Cause 3 recently.

Team Fortress 2. Had the game on Steam for ages, but never really played it for long periods of time. My friend wanted to play it with me recently and I actually got hooked to it. I remember trying to play it a long time ago, but I think I just got my ass kicked by more experienced players and I was intimidated to get back to it. I thought this would be the case again, but I actually started doing pretty well and had a lot of fun. Maybe the game got more packed with inexperienced players after it went F2P or I've just got better at shooters im general.

I imagine I might stop playing it once I get my hands on Overwatch tho. It looks more interesting to me, because of its bigger variety of classes.

Edit:

Also finally got around to playing the Burial at sea DLC for Bioshock: Infinite. Played the main game back in 2013 on a PS3 and now I'm playing the DLCs on PC. Elizabeth is f*cking hot.

At least this didn't happen when I was doing the Paramedic Missions so yeah. :p

AC Syndicate and GTA V on X1. I'm tempted to start another Witcher play-through after watching my wife start her own game.

After playing, and replaying Hitman: Blood Money, which I really enjoyed, I finally decided to play The Operative: No One Lives Forever, and besides a couple of annoyances, it exceeded my expectations. What I don't really like about it is the fact that it promotes stealth, which is cool as I love Stealth games, but on the other end it's next to impossible to sneak past enemies especially because you have to repeatedly "tap" the left analog stick forward instead of just crouching and holding it forward or they'll hear you, and I don't even think this method is intentional as in Thief you can do the same thing taking advantage of a little glitch. Another little annoyance has to do with shooting: when you aim with the right analog stick, the movements aren't fluid, but a little jerky - as if the Look Deadzone was set at very low, and can't be edited. The Look Acceleration is editable, and works just fine. Other than the two, aforementioned annoyances, this is a game I'm really loving and looking forward to completing. Cate Archer's humor is pungent, the storyline is interesting, the level design, filled with "Intelligence Items" to collect, is unique and the soundtrack is amazing. A highly recommended game, although, as a PS2 gamer, I'd suggest you to play it on PC.

Other than The Operative: No One Lives Forever, I'm trying to complete GTA: Vice City Stories at 100% - just finished all the vehicle-based missions, collected all the "Hidden Packages", completed the "Unique Stunt Jumps", and did most of the activities this games has to offer. Just have to own every business and complete the "Rampages". Loved this game's storyline, setting and soundtrack. A very underrated title every GTA fan should play.

Also restarted a new GTA2 playthrough on PC yesterday, and I'm loving it so much! The missions are amazingly fun, the setting (50's vehicles, contemporary architecture, and futuristic weapons) makes this game unique, not only as GTA game, but as a game in general. The radio stations host some very nice tracks played and produced by Rockstar North musicians Craig Conner and Stuart Ross, and the inimitable Rockstar humor is there, as well. If you never had the chance to play this game, don't let its Top-Down view fool you, each district (Downtown, Residential and Industrial) is as detailed as any Rockstar title you'd expect it to be. One of the most immersive Top-Down games ever made.

Gnocchi Flip Flops

Forza Horizon 1

I know it's an old game (October 2012) but I just can't stop playing it. As soon as Forza Horizon 2 came out, people just stopped playing it but I can't stop. Kind of like with GTA 4, I always play that game. I remember following the hype leading up to Forza Horizon 1's launch and I even pre-ordered the game with my own money. I loved everything about it. The relatively large map, the fact that it was set in Colorado, the twisty and fun roads, the burnt autumn scenery, the extensive and diverse - almost redundant but rightfully so - car list where several cars had two variants, the flawless driving physics which I can say are the best I've experienced in any open world game, the fun and engaging racing, the awesome soundtrack, even the storyline- just everything. I liked most of the DLC cars and was very sad to see them cut off DLC support 6 months later, that game could always use some more cars.

I play it now just to drive. I go into multiplayer and create a private free roaming session so that there's no traffic and I can just drive. The soundtrack is timeless and so are the cars, almost all of them are a joy to drive.

When Forza Horizon 2 came out of course I was wowed by the graphics. But it bored me after a while. Graphics can only get you so far. Every where else I felt the game was lacking over time:

- The lack of a storyline was kind of a turn off. Yeah the protagonist didn't talk in the first game but there was a drive because of the storyline, it added to the atmosphere.

- The soundtrack got boring fast. And there was no way to put the music on shuffle.

- It rained too damn much. Like way too much. Every day.

- Too much traffic. There's no fun in storming up winding country backroads, especially in the style that I drive, when you constantly have to overtake slow moving traffic especially when there's so much of it.

- The car list got boring. No modern convertibles - probably because it rained - and a lot of good cars from previous Forzas were missing. Most actually.

- The reflections were awful and the lights looked fake on most cars.

- Too many missed opportunities. No real map expansions. No Alps. No fun roads.

It's just one of those games that seems great at first but has quirks that bug you over time and then you just get tired of them and don't want to play anymore. It also didn't help that I played it through a very dark time in my life so there's no way I can go back to it without those bad memories. But yeah anyways, I'm back to playing Forza Horizon 1 and I'm playing it like I do IV. Like they're regular games, if that makes sense. A lot of people like to stay focused on new games.

I went onto some BO2 last night. I needed a bit of a break of BO3 and all that. After all, BO2 is one of, if not, my favorite cod games and it was fun getting back into the games multiplayer.

Shadow Warrior Classic (1997). Here's a little review of mine:

I never had the chance to play Shadow Warrior Classic (1997), but seeing how it was a "Free to Play" game on Steam, I took advantage of this unrefusable offer, and, to be honest, the game itself is one of the best I've ever played: challenging gameplay, difficult puzzles to solve, awesomely created level design, well hidden secrets to discover, catchy soundtrack, and pungent humor. A game that doesn't take itself too seriously, and often draws a smile, but that, at the same time, doesn't offend your intelligence.
As I've already pointed out, this game ain't exactly a piece of cake to complete, and unless you want to be a "Tiny Grasshopper", get ready to fight hordes of enemies such as Evil Ninjas, Coolies, Rippers, Guardians, Female Warriors, Serpent Gods, Sumo wrestlers, and many, many more. In your defense, though, you have some very nice weapons right at your fingertips: a Katana, Shurikens, a Dual Barrel Riot Shotgun, Uzis, a Rocket Launcher, a Grenade Launcher, a Rail Gun, Sticky Bombs and even the severed head of a Guardian, or the ripped out heart of a Ripper. Also, the majority of these weapons have multiple firing modes.
Technically, for its time, it was a very revolutionary game. In fact, it was the first FPS to include climbable ladders, multiple firing modes, sticky bombs, turrets and various vehicles to drive. A complex game from an era where everything was simpler.
All you have to know about its storyline is that you are Lo Wang, a shadow warrior who works as a protector for Zilla Enterprises, which is owned by the power-hungry tycoon Master Zilla. Everything was going good until Lo Wang discovered Master Zilla's demonic scheme to rule Japan, using creatures summoned from the "Dark Side". Talking of Lo Wang, he's one of the funniest video game protagonists I've played as, and his catchphrases always crack me up. If you liked Duke Nukem in Duke Nukem 3D, then you'll like his long-lost Japanese cousin, as well.
I highly recommend this classic to all those who never had the change to play it.

I was playing Trials Evolution: Gold Edition earlier. It's pretty damn fun actually. I bought about 60 games in a Steam sale a few years ago and I barely touched any of them. I want to slowly play most of them. I need to get back into the Witcher 3. What a masterpiece of a game!

I actually got into BO1 again a couple months back, and found it the 2nd best in the MP CoD games for me (after MW2, obviously)...

I downloaded Tomb Raider on Steam and I am going to start playing it. I started it a few years ago and it seemed pretty fun.

The reboot version? If so, I had a blast playing through it, but it just annoyed me slightly that the likes of actually going through tombs and whatnot was more of a side-quest than part of the main game, the main game itself playing out too much like a movie at times. Great game though, definitely one of the best titles I've played through in a fair few years.

Anyway, decided to go old-school and playing through the MGS series. MGS2 seems to be more difficult than I remember, but pretty sure it's my fault for trying to hunt down all the dog-tags, rather than just going from A-B. MGS1 is still a masterpiece as well for me. Never played MGS3, and still need to purchase MGS4 when I find it.

I finished Burial At Sea episode 2 yesterday. I wish I had played Bioshock 1 beforehand. Could have made more sense out of what was going on.

Played Chivalry: Medieval Warfare today. I did alright, managed to top the scoreboard once, but all the veteran players doing those spin moves to confuse the enemy are just plain obnoxious. I really hope For Honor turns out good.

Actually played a bit of GTA Online today and I didn't hate it as much as I thought I would. I didn't get disconnected as frequently as usual, I got to have some fun with random people as my bodyguards and I got to play adversary modes with a good amount of people. A few frustrating things happened like one of the VIP works bugging out so that we couldn't kill the guy with the briefcase, but for the most part things worked out fine. You do kinda need a bit of luck to enjoy the game I guess. I still don't feel like touching missions and heists tho, I've got really tired of those.
