I have a play of Control going too.  I think its my third play but first time with all the DLC.  I'm just about finished the Alan Wake stuff.    Got a new TV and all.  Series X on sweet TV with 120hz and all that.  So naturally Control looks great.  Great game.  Second best Remedy game next to Alan Wake.

Back when I was still gaming on my PC, I wanted to play Alan Wake so baad. I might give it a try next year. On the other hand, I'm thinking of fully committing to Control by July. I just got the shotgun "playstyle". The gameplay and story looks compelling enough, but the lore sounds kinda whacky to the point that I just collect collectibles only for the sake of collecting them. XD

I finished Outer Worlds. There is definitely potential there for a great RPG game, but I don't think this was it. I will be picking up the sequel on Series X though because I think if they get it right there's something really special there.

The main issue I had was the scope of it. All the hub worlds just felt too similarly designed and restrictive. I appreciate what they did with the budget they had, but ultimately it didn't serve the game very well.

Moving on to playing Horizon sequel next.

There is a weird turning point in Control where it goes from ho-hum samey to holy crap this is great and just starts to click.  Even the weird ass 'Remedy' story holds up.  It took me a few starts before I got there...glad I revised and stuck it out when I did.

I've been thinking of getting this game since it came out since I love RPGs and I'm a huge Horizon fan. I think $80 without the expansion DLC seems to be worth it, than TLOU remake.

It started clicking on me on that early "hotel rooms" level. But, most of the Bureau areas are really boring and ho-hum samey for me since the areas just remind me of Half-Life and other "science lab" levels in most sci-fi games.

Here's hoping I get to the point where it just clicks in and I get to enjoy the game more. I tried playing this game when it came out on PS Plus last year, but my old console couldn't handle the game and it was too twitchy to finish even the first level.

Bought a couple of games on steam sale, namely Alan Wake, Control, Resident Evil Village and Neon White. Haven't gotten to the first 2 yet, but I have started RE8 and Neon White. I've been streaming RE8 to my friend over discord as he's played it before and wants to watch me go through it, though I've only played about an hour so I don't have much to say. Neon White on the other hand is an amazing game, (except for the dialogue which I admittedly like and dislike at times). It's got amazing visuals, music, controls really well, and getting platinum medals in each level is really satisfying.

Aside from that I started another playthrough of Dragon's Dogma due to the announcement of the second game about 2 weeks ago.

apex legends and overwatch. But I have plan to improve my gaming skills in apex. One thing about multiple games is that your character has to level up in order to advance. It usually takes a lot of time to unlock specific skills and weapons because you have to go on missions and complete tasks. I used help of https://overboost.pro/apex-legends-boosting

I'm close to finishing Metro: Exodus, but I think the Metro series are overrated.

They have a distinct feel to them that I appreciate, they nail the atmosphere in creepy and unsettling ways. But they suffer from a lot of issues. Is Exodus the newer one? I'm tempted to try it at some point.

I'm about 3-4 hours into Horizon Forbidden West, I'm enjoying it was much as I thought I would. I have one weird gripe though; Aloy's voice. Does anyone find it like, a little too forlorn and overdramatic? It really grates me at times lol.

I'm curious about the issues you found from the Metro series. I posted on Metro: Exodus' topic yesterday about why I didn't finish Last Light.

Metro Exodus is currently among the bottom list of games I like, which is basically 95% of the games I ever played. They really nailed the atmosphere in the metro. It's very claustrophobic and the way the games show that tells us why people in the metro kill each other. There's basically very little space for everyone in the same area, let alone the metro which is mostly occupied by monsters.

The series suffers from repetitiveness in favor of character building. The devs tried a little too much on emulating character building in the novels that the stories suffered from excessive dialogue or shall I say monologue since Artyom barely speaks.

Half the chapters are the same Point A to Point B quests with shootouts in between. And most of the dialogue are too windy-windy you'd wish they were just cohesive enough. It's like listening to an essay. Most of the time a character would say something and explain it like a novel, like why the hell? You don't need to explain what we're seeing to me, I'm seeing it on my screen right now!!

The sound effects were done poorly. I swear I could mix audio better than the devs. Sound effects were usually out of sync, out of place, lacking impact, dull, etc. that they take away the immersion.

Even Metro: Exodus, the latest game, which features a few open-ended environments suffers from this repetitiveness. I won't spoil it too much for you, but the open-world level's storylines just mirror each other too much, there's very little difference in them. It's the same faction vs faction featured throughout the series and it's dragging the game unnecessarily like the previous two.

Basically, the games have excellent gameplay for their time. But the animations, sound design, and over-reliance on dialogue takes away from the game. Jumping in this game feels like there's low gravity, it's too sluggish.

I hope they really improve on these things since these problems have always been in the series. 4A temselves confirmed on Reddit that they're working on another installment.

I played Metro 2033 twice. Originally, when it came out, it was like this sleeper hit. It wasn't too popular yet it had nailed this chilling atmosphere, and had great storytelling. I bought the Redux and completed 2033 for the second time and moved on to Last Light. I didn't finish it as I think I got stuck at a difficult part and put it down only to not pick it up. I really want to play Exodus and I nearly bought it on sale but I think I want to finish LL first before I do.

I actually like the narration. As it's paying homage to the books, I'm sure they wanted to quote some word for word dialogue but I get you if you think it's a bit much. For me I have to be in a real certain mood to play those games anyway. I'm not a huge fan of supernatural things but Metro weaves it into the post-apocolyptic world quite well. It makes it digestible for me.

I might try give LL another go and just finish it off so I can complete the trilogy.

Hi. Lately I've been playing CS:GO, apex legends and of course GTA San Andreas! I also like to play minecraft sometimes with friends in different minigames. Sometimes I play for money. It's one way for me to feel intrigue lol. Sometimes it's poker, sometimes slots. Lately I've been playing for staking crypto. I don't know why, but it always makes me feel good when I lose. But you and I should always remember to play carefully and not go into agony. If you do it right, you can even make money. I'm getting good at it gradually. What do you think?

There was barely any mention of Last Light in Exodus. Most of the characters in Exodus are totally new, except for Miller and Anna. There are mentions of past characters here and there, but they barely exist. So, you can skip LL.

I wouldn't mind if they paid more homage to the books, but perhaps there could have been other ways where the story didn't drag really slow. Or perhaps, I thought the story dragged because of the weird delivery since most characters don't even move when they talk or they barely moved at all.

Sam's story had better character interactions compared to Metro Exodus. I haven't finished it yet, but it the dialogue was just enough to build on the speaker or the lore.

As for what I'm playing right now, it's mainly Control and Metro Exodus - Sam's Story. I also tried going for another GOW 2018 NG+, but since I felt the urge to finish Control first since it's not a permanent game in the PS+ catalogue. The thing I love about NG+ is that you can really experiment with different playstyles since you're no longer locked out of options.

After finishing DOOM ('93) and DOOM II ('94), I took a short doom-break and now I'm knees deep in DOOM 3, somewhere half-way through 😈

What a fantastic horror shooter, and I forgot how rich story part is actually with all messages & emails & video files, and how interactive and detailed levels are with all these moving parts & machinery!

... now having gaming doom-induced memberberries nostalgia moments I had to finally buy on summer sale Duke Nukem 3D, and full packs of Half-Life & Half-Life 2, and Fallout New Vegas, ... 😄

I'm also driving orange Volvo truck in truck simulator for a little bit, and trying again to play original Saints Row 3 (but my gods this is so not for me 🙄).

Currently playing Red Dead Redemption 2.

I wish a current-gen version is on the way, I'm looking forward to 60fps, haptic feedback, and adaptive triggers. IDK if it's just me, but after playing Ghost of Tsushima, the audio in this game sounds kind of outdated. The audio doesn't sound muffled, it's just they sound like they have a wider soundstage/more spaced out. I built most of the outfits I wanted and I'm halfway through on my talismans. I might start working on ambient challenges later.

I just got the Legend of the East satchel. Although, on my way to completion, I sold a few materials for my trinkets due to bag space. :/

So I finally got over my lack of motivation to play anything, and started a new Skyrim playthrough.

Been a while since I played this and I'm loving it once again. The last time I played this on PC was just after my first rig was built, 750ti and one stick of RAM (8gb) so performance didn't really set the world on fire. Now that my hardware is a lot better and it's an older game, it can be run on absolutely max settings and looks gorgeous and plays really well. After playing on 360 and then a 750ti, seeing it look this good even vanilla without MOD's, it's like a whole new game.

I dug out my PS3 a while back and am replaying some old favorites, at the moment playing some Blood Money, I'm enjoying it, the complexity of the levels and the numerous approaches you can take make it great for repeat playthroughs. A New Life has to be my favorite level, hide behind that door all you want Vinnie, the Spas 12 will soon flush you out.

I still haven't finished Horizon 2 (and Forza Motorsport 6) because my old Xbox died but I recently got the Series X and I'm back on track.

I'm currently playing Horizon: Forbidden West and I'm having a blast grinding for the weapons. I was kind of disappointed that the Hunter Bow is still the meta. I used to have the Blast Sling as my go-to back in Zero Dawn, but it eats a lot of resources and it wasn't as versatile as the Hunter Bow.

I guess I'm back to the Hunter+Precision Bow combo with shredder as my "farming" weapon.

I'm close to finishing HFW. I think I'm 80% into the story. It's too tempting to finish the story, but I'm more of a "prepare for the final boss" kind of guy when it comes to RPGs.

I'm having a blast using the boltblaster. I stopped using the hunter bow 30% into the game, switched to the spike thrower, then switched to the boltblaster. Fully upgraded my Legendary Nora armor and my Boltblaster. I'm thinking of holding off quests for a day and tie up the upgrades for my weapons.

I'm planning to 100% the game for another playthrough. Unlike my subsequent NG+ playthroughs in Horizon Zero Dawn in which I just played for the sake of grinding Frozen Wilds mods and Adept gear, my next FW playhtough will be solely to absorb the story.

EDIT: Just finnished the story! Holy sh*t! This game is EPIIIIC! A few scenes stood out to me in particular.

The first would be the

Spoiler

hologram scene after Aloy took Poseidon and the entire Las Vegas area in particular.

That scene made me tearjerk in appreciation for GG's efforts.

2nd

Spoiler

When Aloy and Zo restored the Plowhorns in Plainsong and the subsequent improvements on their crops.

I was also tear-jerky when the plowhorns and the Utaru started singing.

3rd

Spoiler

Varl's death.

4th

Spoiler

When Beta gave Aloy the sunwing override and her part in the final battle against the specter horde.

Best game I ever played so far.

Moving, and I have my Xbox 360 unpacked as of now, I've been on Bully, UFC, Destiny, Gears, Saints Row, Halo, Minecraft, and a good amount of other indie games. Borderlands and the tales from the borderlands are getting most attention but I'm downloading as I go, been along time since I have updated this beast. Good times though, overall.

Returnal.

After playing House Of Ashes, a bit of Elden Ring and two consecutive playthroughs of The Quarry, its refreshing to be playing a shooter game again. Graphics are beautiful too. I'm only an hour in but I'm liking it so far.

I'm still on my 360 right now showing the kids these older titles lately. We are playing Call of Duty - World At War, me & my daughter are beating it co-op and we have tried Zombies. I've played forever but it's awesome she's down to play on a daily. About to jump on now. No map packs but I'm about to download them. Zombies only had one map but now there's four...

Trying to really really get back into PSO2: New Genesis. My sister really wants me to play, and since she's coming back to GTAO (and gave me a bunch of expensive items), I kinda have too lol

Getting used to all the drop down menus, and fast movement is HARD. :prismkek:

Xbox has all the Doom games on game pass, I haven’t played the first one in over twenty years. Just as fun as I remember it though and it’s still addicting…the newer ones are really fun too of course.
