Kippers
I can land pogo-to-fingerflip-to-rail sometimes, you dont wanna know what a pain in the ass that is, you should see the ends of my fingers. You need to find yourself a video camera and film that one day. I'd love to see it Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/280431-skate-boarding/page/3/#findComment-4457203 Share on other sites

Davo the Assassin
Rugby kicks ass, but so does skateboarding . OMG, NEW SPORT! RUGBY SKATEBOARDING! HOW COOLS!?!? Lol, would be interesting, going round playing rugby on plays, diving off your boards to tackle, lol. ToyMachine
Apparently there are loads of variations of the Railflip. Loads upon loads. I can land pogo-to-fingerflip-to-rail sometimes, you dont wanna know what a pain in the ass that is, you should see the ends of my fingers. Hah someone played too much THPS. Kippers
Totally jealous of these guys lol. I can do some of that stuff but they put my efforts to shame. they just do it so smooth. When i try some of that stuff i'm spending most my time trying to keep my balance. but then i tell myself they've probably been doing Freestyle for several years whereas i've been doing it for 8 weeks, and everything is suddenly a little bit better. Davo the Assassin
Just got back from 6 hours of skating on a new board (FINALLY)... IT'S SO LUSH, HMMM, . And all saved for by myself, I feel oh so proud, lol. However, now I have a f*ck off huge lump on my elbow that kills, but oh well. That and numerous other knocks and dinks, lol. Picture soon to follow . Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/280431-skate-boarding/page/3/#findComment-4461429 Share on other sites
Kippers
In those 6 hours did you manage a fingerflip? I've been messing around with the Rail flip today. I dont know how, but i managed to land one where my legs are crossed over when i'm in railstand and pulled off a kickflip rail flip. That was pretty sweet. Havnt been able to do a second one though. What's your new board? Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/280431-skate-boarding/page/3/#findComment-4461486 Share on other sites

More like, "someone has watched too many Mullen videos 70 times in a row". The majority of people ive skated with in my time have been skating since the 70s, so a lot of freestyle sh*t rubs off on me. Look up Yo-Yo Shultz if you wanna see some insane freestyle froma guy who could be your dad! Ive got a video camera, so you may just have to eat your words. darthYENIK
I love freestyle. It takes a hell of a lot more skill than people give credit to it. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/280431-skate-boarding/page/3/#findComment-4465017 Share on other sites

LordDiablo
i started skating again after like three years. i can still do some flip tricks and jump some stairs and i'm content with that cause i'm not looking to hurt myself. i did take my camera out and got my friend whose kept skating after i quit throw a nasty varial heel down a five stair. http://fitsmis.deviantart.com/art/Varial-Heel-62416419 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/280431-skate-boarding/page/3/#findComment-4477193 Share on other sites

But atleast Im working on my horrible fear of dropping in, I just seem to lose heart half way through and manual it, which is painful. Oh well, I'll get it soon . Oogie
why is this topic so inactive suddenly I haven't been on a regular skateboard in ages, started longboarding 2 years ago and now i have 2 boards, a pintail for smooth rides and my downhill board. Even back in the day when i used to ride a regular skateboard, i was mostly just riding around, i like the freedom skateboarding offers. Just gets better when you're on a longboard, on a smooth road with the wind in your back and you never stop riding without needing any push. Anyone else into longboarding ? i know murdoc does some downhill races, do you have any pics btw ? I'll probably edit with pics of my 2 boards later today. darthYENIK
I'd like to get a longboard, but I'm fine with my normal setup. There are a lot of hills around here, so cruising isn't a problem, unless you are going up hill. *MURDOC*
i want to start skating again any ideas on what to buy for a beginner who can hardly do anything? cheers, You want to do tricks and sh*t correct? Best bet is to buy a blank deck, since they are cheap and usually just as good as a pro deck and about a quarter of the price. Its hard to make recommendations on wheels, since i dont know where youll be skating and whatnot. But a good rule of thumb: Big wheels for speed, small wheels for tech. If youre gonna aim for clearing gaps and dropping down steps and sh*t, go for a bigger wheel. If youre looking to do flip-in sh*t and freestyle, go for a smaller wheel. Also, with wheels, softer=grippier/slower/smoother-ride. harder=faster/slidey/rougher-ride. All in all, its presonal preference. One suggestion I can make is for trucks. Dont skimp out on what looks like a "good deal", get tried and true brand names, and they can likely last you your entire skating career. Ive got a pair of Tracker SixTracks from '89 that are still going strong. *MURDOC*
Blanks are usually made in the same factories as a lot of pro decks (brand name), so the build quality is virtually the same, just no graphics. There are exceptions in the way of specially built decks from some companies that are specific to the brand, such as different laminations in the boards, different shapes and different moulds which provide different amounts of concave and kick. *MURDOC*
Id say try a 7.5inch or 7.75inch wide board, thats usually the sweet-spot for street skaters, but depending on your taste, you might want an 8, but to be safe, id say start with the previously mentioned, then, if need be, move up a size. Length should be around 31-32inch, but you can find shorter boards that still have decent width. A 30inch board is pretty easy to flick around from what ive found. Glad I could help, and happy skating! Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/280431-skate-boarding/page/3/#findComment-4529245 Share on other sites

Davo the Assassin
There are loads of sites out, just google it man. And if you looking for a good first trick to learn, its gotta be the Ollie, most things just work from there. Once you got that, go onto maybe some manualing, shuv-its and pop-shuvits? Kickflips, Frontside 180s, god knows, take your pick. But the ollie would be supreme to start with.
