darthYENIK
The X-games, to me and my friends, were always a f*cking joke. They used to try to make it out like the skaters were sworn enemies, or some bullsh*t drama. Which of course any skater knows that can't be true. There is an unspoken brotherhood between skateboarders. It's best explained when you are skating down the street, and you see another skater coming your way. Every other person you passed you pretty much ignore. But this guy you give a nod, or a "What's up". And they reply with the same thing. It's a kinship. Davo the Assassin
My nearest skateshop is like 40-50 mins away, kinda sucks. But I got 67 quid atm, that should easily cover whatever board Im looking to get. Lol, kipps helped me figure out somewhere to skate without him realising it. Love you man . Hah, my topic is kinda active . Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/280431-skate-boarding/page/2/#findComment-4431027 Share on other sites

Kippers
going to California was the best holiday i ever had. Wake up, walk about 10 minutes to the skatepark, stay there all day and then walk back. It was definitely great for me. Don't know about the rest of my family though coz most of it revolved around the skating Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/280431-skate-boarding/page/2/#findComment-4432676 Share on other sites

Davo the Assassin
Bonelesses are great when you can do them at speed. I can do a very slow one, same with a 180 boneless standing. Lol, bert slides look amusingly awkward to do, hah! Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/280431-skate-boarding/page/2/#findComment-4436204 Share on other sites
tapout182
I love Dogtown and Z Boys so i'm really into old skool. They were hardcore for their time. Berts look so easy but their so freaking hard! I'm pathetic :'( Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/280431-skate-boarding/page/2/#findComment-4437284 Share on other sites
*MURDOC*
Get some gloves, they help immensely. Also, make sure your wheels arent soft, or you will fail miserably. I mean, soft wheels can slide, but that only works well at speed of at least 25mph. They were hardcore for their time. They were hardcore, period. Still are. Kippers
I was jsut about to ask if anyione caught Dogtown and Z boys but i guess you all did! That documentary was awesome. I always wondered why they touched the ground so much. Now i know they were just wannabe surfers I was smiling the whole time on that part about the Z boys entering the freestyle competition and everoyne else was doing all this ballerina stuff, and the Z boys come in and just start sliding around all over the place. I mean...He jumped OFF the platform!! History right there man! Oh Damn! Jake Brown falls 50 feet and lands square on his back on the flat of the pipe and walks away....Amazing. *MURDOC*
Look for the video of Danny Way jumping the great wall, its essentially the same ramp, and I think he landed at least one air coming up the other side. 40 feet of air, thats just craziness. Davo the Assassin
Lol, anyone (English mind) seen that advert for that wart freezing stuff? That skateboarder with a orange grip tape. Now the board grip design looks nuts, but when you see him skate away, I can't help but wonder if he has ever actually skated before, lol. Yay, my topic has the little red envelope thingy next to it! That is so my board . Shame it got rained on about two million times and weighs a tonne, lol. Davo the Assassin
I can't get it to flip a full 360, only and 180, hence I normally land on my trucks. Moving ones are hopeless, haha. Kippers
If anything, landing on your trucks in harder. Davo the Assassin
I just need to jump higher, but find that harder when squatted somewhat. Hmm, I'll keep at it . Kippers
I just leant a cool thingy. I doubt it's got a name but i just learn how to go from 50-50 truckstand to Railstand. It aint much but it looks really cool, and feel great when you land, perfectly balanced on the side of your board. I did it on grass, so it's probably harder on concrete. here's a detailed diagram of the 'trick' if you dont knwo what either those thing are. Kippers
Pfft! That trick was so 3 days ago. I learnt a Railflip last night. It makes a good subsitution for the kickflip which i still cant do even after 2 years. Apparently there are loads of variations of the Railflip. The one i learnt basically just does the kickflip motion under the feet, except i start on the side of my board instead of on the grip. hehe, the name rocks! *MURDOC*
Apparently there are loads of variations of the Railflip. Loads upon loads.
