Sorry if there's another post/thread like this.

 

(I did look around a couple pages)

 

I've illegally crossed the border in to the west island as per demerests guide..(thanks demerest).

 

Anyways, I;ve now got 97 packages...which is cool, BUT, I'm running out of steam, I know for sure that one package is still left in the cop station on east island. (saving that for last..lol)...that leaves two unfound ones..and i'm running round the map like a headless chicken..lol.

 

I've been using a couple of guides and maps for the packages but i've been round the map several times now...arrrggghhhh...

 

So, the question is...do any of you 100%'ers know which packages are habitually overlooked or forgotten?...are there ones that are easily missed?.

 

I'de appreciate any advice on this it's driving me nuts...I've got helicopter/playstation2 sore thumb..lol.

PS2, eh? Ouch! Were it PC, you'd have half a dozen ways to progress.

 

SNP did wonders for helping us realize which UJ's were commonly overlooked. Not HP's though.

 

I'd check HP's 22 and 24. You know, the ones on top of the two buildings right next to the Malibu. I think HP14 would be easy to overlook if you were checking the wrong bath house. Speaking of bath houses, HP's 17 and 18 can sometimes be confused. I've overlooked HP34 a couple times. Did you get both of the ones in the mall? All the ones in the airport?

 

Honestly, as I think back to the many times I've collected them, I can come up with a couple dozen ones I've overlooked and they're pretty much scattered about. You really will have to go through them all again, one at a time

An easily-missed one is at the house located in Prawn Island during the "Phnom Penh 86" mission. Another package that is missed is near to a tree surrounded by water at Leaf Links. Also, there's a package in a parking lot area at the Hyman Stadium as well as near to the Hyman Condo.

Is the map with numbers on the locations the map at vicecity.com?...

 

If so, number 34 is the one by the pool, pink highrise northeast of washington mall.

 

I'll try that one, I dont remember doing that one..

 

I had no clue gtavc was out on pc until I started reading these forums, Otherwise i woulda been tempted to buy that version..

Good call on the leaf links location, been back there once before because I had a suspicion that I had'nt got them all....the last time I went to look I got distracted by the golf gang and had to beat a hasty retreat after slaughtering a few of them..

I'll go back to the links and check again...

 

I really do dread the thought of spending the coming weekend going right through the map all over again...I just as soon delete me save file and start again...lol...

No, GameFAQs.com. While there's no official order, generally, the first person to make a map gets to pick the numbers. At least in GTA3, they were numbered a general left to right. But I've seen several maps list it that way. Maybe that's how the Brady guide said it was. Who knows.

Demerest, Good call on number 34...the guide i use must have the same numbering sequence....I checked the location an sure enuff I had'nt got that one...98 packages..woohoo!....

 

One more and then it's time for a visit to the cop shop..and hopefully a raid on the barracks to get my heli and rhino..

Did you recheck the airport? There's one on the roof there (you can just get a ramp to). Also, HP's 91 and 92 are on top/below one another. Check the interiors? Two shops you can rob along with SSA have a package inside them. That's HP's 28, 76, and 78. How about 64?

 

BTW, the ones ROF mentioned are good ones. They were ones I was thinking of.

The one near Robina's cafe? Its on a billboard's catwalk.

Besides the ones listed above-- the ones I missed because I was looking in the wrong spot and thought I'd already gotten them when I played through the first time...

 

1. The one right behind the malibu -- I though it was in the open lot behind it, not the tiny enclosed lot right behind the building.

 

2. The one behind PHils place near the water... each time I checked for that one, I looked from the east side looking west-- you can't see it from that direction.. you have to be looking from the south to north or from out over the water

I know about the cop shop on east island. saving that till last.

 

Just want to make sure of the ones on the mainland before I settle down to the missions again.

I found the HP map on gamefaqs.com...The most clearest and best produced i've seen..

 

Now I've got a good map...looks like I'll be visiting 99 locations.....98 where the package has been taken and ONE where the package is still there....hopefully..lol...

I'll let you know if I found it or end up deleting my save and starting over...somehow..there's nothing more disheartening than running round locations only to find the hp is'nt there..oh, well..it'll teach me to be more methodical next time.

 

Doing the spray tags on SA was the same for me...spraying away willy nilly and not keeping tabs on what i've sprayed and what i had'nt...lol

I think we've all done that.

 

"I'll just grab this HP, I'm sure I'll remember it when I get a map."

 

Here's a tip. I did this when I couldn't figure out which USJs I'd already completed.

 

Divide the map into 6 or 10 "sectors", with roughly equal numbers of HP in each sector.

 

Randomly pick a sector, and start a new game. Now with a clean slate, pickup all the HPs in that sector. You are doing this so thier exact locations will be fresh in your mind. Then re-load your saved game, and check those locations.

Then pick another sector and repeat.

 

This way there is a chance that it won't be the last one on someone's list. A small cahnce anyway.

I had a saved file right from the begining called strangly enuff "In the begining"....lol.

 

it's before anything has been done, no missions of any kind and no hp's collected.

 

So currently, I have 39 HP's that can be collected on foot and bicycle. Looking to jack an ambulance now to break into the links..(links locked until the 4 irons mission) and the Star Island.

 

Once I have those..I'll be pretty sure that the one missing HP on my original save is somewhere on the mainland.

Or you could just use one of the get to the west island early techniques, grab a heli, and all of them. That's what I'd do.

In point of fact that is exactly what I've done Dem..

 

It was less trouble shooting a bike over the wall then breaking into each island separately...

 

Yanno it's weird I never realised there are NO peds, only cops and vehicles before you do the first mission..

Only peds i've seen are the golfers on the links.

 

No ho's..no gang members, no tourists and no nuthin....there is shop staff to rob though..lol.

 

I;m used to making investment moneys through thumping running crims,...no chance of THAT in this save..

 

I appreciate your input Demarest and blixdugan, I Suck at the actual missions so this gives me a sence of acheivment at the very least..

The streets shouldn't be barren. But if they were, shop keepers showing up would be no surprise as they're called on to do so by the code based on proximity.

Sorry bout the typo....to many hours spent chasing HP's..

 

Nah, Still not found it....had fun looking though....

 

In fact I got all of them in the test save I was useing...And still could'nt figure out which was the missing HP for my original save,,,As I had not got far into the game I;m considering just carrying on from the save I have with all 100 HP's...????.

 

I think it's only about five missions to get where I was, And now I have the weapons,..LOTS of weapons...MUAAAHAHAHAA.

 

A couple of WTF moments..

 

Tommy was on the East island highrise with the pool (the one with peds, the other one has no peds)...just picked up an hp and was daydreaming looking at the skyline, One of the peds jumped into pool and jacked the heli...I had tommy run to the pool to jack the heli back..as i ran towards the copter the rotor killed me....wtf!!!

 

Tommy had just collected the HP from off the airport terminal and rode of the roof on the pcj 600....

 

Landed ..I handbraked hard, Tommy and the bike skidded on it's side into the Surfing Vice city billboard......next thing Tommys INSIDE the billboard!!!!...standind up,....bike on the floor...surrounded by wooden walls...no way could I get out...I mean...WTF ?????,

Funny things is the peds came back after I saved a couple times....weird!.

 

Perhaps the console should'nt be kept running as long as this one does..?

I almost killed Helena while getting back in the copter I used for our date. A blade caught her and she flew up, landed on the rotors again, bounced off and then got back in...

 

And I got Vic stuck inside one of the bridges once. Couldn't get out!

Thats one of the reasons I love the GTA series so much....It's non stop LMFAO all the way..lol....

 

So what ya think? Start the missions again with 100 HP's.....

 

Or carry searching for the missing one?...

 

I've got to unlock the islands as soon as i can now...unless I can find a way to store a heli, Tried pushing one in a garage on east island, that was not succesfull to say the least...blew tommy up trying to get close to the door...

 

Missions R US I guess for now.

You don't have to save one... buy the Skumole shack and always save there... the police heli is about 10 seconds away.

 

Also realize that whether you own the mansion or not, the sea skimmer will spawn there after 80 packages (so that heli is also available now).

I own the shack and hyman condo's, but won't I lose the helicopter every time i enter a vehicle or do a mission on East Island?.

 

 

Coz then I'd have to bust outer the east Island everytime I'm heli less..lol..

 

Mind you, I'm getting pretty damn good at shooting that bike over the wall now...last time even the bike made it over, tho I wasn't on it when we landed,,,
