how long does it take you to beat?

Recommended Posts

Normally when I play any GTA, it's with the purpose of playing to 100%. Same with SA believe it or not. But I've NEVER just played the storyline missions only. No Zero, Wang's, or heist mission and no side missions. Took about 11 hours. I wasn't blitzing, but I wasn't farting around on dates and stuff either. So I was curious as to what others have done.

What a huge game. I can beat GTAIII 100% in less than eight hours, but storyline alone in SA takes 11!

i am no where near u...tho i play GTA like everyday...i keep messing around in gta...i don really see the point in finishing the game fast..take it easy and slow...but grats on the fact tat u can achieve something i haven't

I can't play nonstop, I have an extremely short attention span. The last time I played through with no side missions and loads of cheats on, though, it took me about 2 days playing in 3-4 hour sessions. Last time I played without cheats it took about a week.

I think the perpose of San Andreas is to mess around and not to blitz it

The PURPOSE (read: format) of GTA has been open-ended since GTA. You are free to do it as you please. It's not meant to be one way or the other.

@Mr_Hym: It wasn't done in one session. But the game tracks your time for you.

Hey everyone, I've wanted to play through San Andreas all summer, but haven't got around to it. I've never even beat it yet (Screw you, Zero), so I want to try to before V comes out. I have school starting on the 27th, so I was wondering, if I played maybe 5 hours every few days, how many weeks would it take to beat it? I would like to beat it before school starts.

Depends on whether you are slacking and if you are spending time with things which don't contribute to 100% completion. But as an example my frist save took 44hours and I did all territories and such things. I think around 30 hours non-rushed gameplay will take you to beat San Andreas.

I am just curious guys. I returned to the game on 5th November and I finished End of the line on 13th November. I am working to get 100% now and I am now at 93.58%. There are still a lot of tough tests to deal with. BMX challenge, NRG-500 challenge, Vigilante, dirt track (I think it's very hard) and flying challenges in LV. I think I need like two more weeks to get 100%. I wanna know your experience so let's share guys!

Lethal Vaccine

47 Hours 50 Minutes = 100%, 3 Deaths, 0 Busted, 0 Cheats, 202 Mission Attempts, 144 Missions Passed, 57 Special Vehicles Obtained, and 100% Gang Territory Taken Over

I played 47 Hours and 50 Minutes and this was within exactly 15 days. I play a little bit each day and always progress and I NEVER save the game after mindless free roaming. I only save when it's necessary so my Total Playing Time Stat doesn't rise without reason.

Thats impressive! I played for 46 hours and still at 93.58%.

Thanks. Yeah, without Special Vehicles, I can probably finish SA in 32 Hours or so.

It's the Special Vehicles which add the extra time and challenge. Some of them can take a good 40 minutes to obtain...

Also, I only died because I had to. To obtain 3 of the Special Vehicles in my collection requires a Death for each, so I committed suicide to obtain them. Only 3 Deaths of course. I don't need to die for anything else.

The other GTA's in the Series in the 3D Era like III, VC, LCS, and VCS I can do in LESS THAN 20 Hours (III and VC) UP TO 28 Hours (VCS). For LCS, I always get around 22-24 Hours.

I am doing a SA Save right now as I type this and it's in Slot 2 and my main Save in Slot 1, but since I am not going for any of the SAME Special Vehicles from Slot 1, I can probably do this Save in 30 Hours or so...

I've done SA like 8 times now so I know what to expect and every time I play it gets easier and quicker...

About Vigilante...

On PS2 V1, I can pass Level 12 in 8 minutes with a cool trick. It's called the Burger Shot/Cluckin' Bell Glitch where I can get off the Police Bike and run inside to a Fast Foot Restaurant and buy a meal and when I do this, it eliminates a target from Vigilante. I can pass the entire thing in 8 minutes or so, usually...Don't even have to fire a single weapon lol
