Demarest
Rule two of modding is uncheck read only. If you have modding questions, consult the modding forum where your question is likely already answered and we can do without the duplicate topic. Likewise, if you have something to add five minutes later, just edit your post. Please respect these forums. Where is this "read only"? -no disrespect intended Edited May 31, 2007 by agNoodles Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/279910-io-error-32/#findComment-4267759 Share on other sites
Demarest
None taken. And no worries. You're not the first person so eager to arrive upon an answer that they make the same mistake Whatever file you're trying to modify has the attribute of read-only checked. That's why when you go to change it, Windows is giving you that error. Although come to think of it, I don't think THAT is the error you get. THAT is an error message from the tool that you generally see when you're trying to modify a file and the game is running. Close the game first so that the tool can have exclusive access to it. Heheh . Once I saw a really cool mod when exploring net, i dl:d it, and started to install, opened up gta3.img and tried to put the files in. Then i got that error, and already started to make a question about that error here on forums! Then i noticed my SA was running -.-'. D'OH! . So, like Demarest said, close SA and it should work Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/279910-io-error-32/#findComment-4270057 Share on other sites

agNoodles
Ugghh i did it without the game running, and it worked no problem but then I tried installing one that required a handling change which is way over my head for now so in the game it was glitchy and impossible to drive but then i shut down gta to try and fix it or replace it back, i replaced it and now i get the microsoft error report when i try to run gta, any sudgestions on how to fix, if not where are the save game files located? wow thats a sentence lol Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/279910-io-error-32/#findComment-4270922 Share on other sites
Andrew
Rule one of GTA modding is always back up your files that you modify. By replacing it what do you mean, that you've replaced the DFF and TXD files with the orginal? Or do you mean that you've replaced the handling line with the orginal? agNoodles
I know i backed them up and yes, by replaced i meant with the txd and dff originals. I never touched the handling line. Now i went back and replaced everything i modded to originals but still no results I wonder if maybe when I edited hotring i accidentally did hotrinb whatever that is Edited June 2, 2007 by agNoodles Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/279910-io-error-32/#findComment-4270979 Share on other sites
