Niko Bellic
Hey guys. I was on a trip on the weekend up the coast and before I left, my computer was running perfectly normal. But I came back on Monday and realised it was running really really really slow! I've done a virus check, about 20 defragments, disk cleanups and I even used CCleaner and cleaned 550mb from my disk.. .. But it is still slow. Anyone else got ideas? I need this computer for work and it gets hard when it takes a while to open all the programs. Cheers guys. -Niko. Waddy
This has happened to me once or twice. It probably wont help you, but I opened up the bios, and put everything to run at best performance. Then everything worked a treat again. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/279864-computer-running-slow/?do=findComment&comment=4265703 Share on other sites

Niko Bellic
Yes my computer was off for the whole weekend obviously. What do you mean by opening Bios? What is Bios? Primer43
Basic Input Output System. It configures the basics of your system. It runs off a chip on the motherboard. When your system is starting up, press the delete key, or F1, or F2. to get in the BIOS. Vanzant
What came up on your Virus detection? Anything? Do you also run a SpyWare/Adware protection program? Have you tried running these types of programs in Safe Mode? Chadg
I think i remember downloading a program called "Super Utilities". I think you can clean the registry with that, And it has a whole other bunch of features. Try it Edited June 10, 2007 by Chadg Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/279864-computer-running-slow/?do=findComment&comment=4287625 Share on other sites
