benshelock
Please don't flame me im a begginer in the mapping stuff so please be nice In Multi Theft Auto the map editor saves the files as a MAP file, is it possible to convert that file into what ever file it is for GTA San Andreas. I saw somewhere that you can convert a MAP file to an IPL file, is that what I need? If all this is possible please post the link to me so I can download what ever I need or tell me what I need to do. I would really apreciate it, thanks
dertyjerzian
If what you wrote above is indeed accurate, that it leads me to assume the maps you are making are being made with ipl entries using models you'd find in the game itself. Yes, an IPL is what you need. If MTA has it's own objects that are scripted to be included when MTA is launched, then that is a different story and you will need those models as well. If it is pre-existing objects, convert to the ipl if your ipl is named "poop.ipl", open DATA\gta.dat and add the line to the bottom of it's obvious section: IPL DATA\MAPS\poop.IPL Exactly as above. Now, drop your poop.ipl into the DATA\MAPS\ folder. I haven't played MTA in years, but that seems like what you are looking for.
