DirectX 9 problem

I already have DX9 installed, but the game tells me that i need to install it

the problem is that i downloaded and installed the latest directx from microsoft.com, and the game says that i don't have it

The game may be having a setup for DirectX. Why don't you let the game install it as Demarest says and then see what happens.

That would be a problem if it somehow stopped you from playing the game. That's not the case here. Allowing the game to install what it thinks it needs will allow you to play the game. Keep in mind too that version nine is the longest lived version of DirectX and therefore there are different versions of verions nine.

I think you need DirectX 9.0c for which the setup is available in the game.

I think he said he has the latest version. Give us some PC specs. Does any other game have this problem?

DirectX has been around nearly ten years. DirectX 9 has been around a couple years now, eh? Latest as of when?

 

We don't need to know his PC specs. What we need to know is that he allowed the game to install DirectX and it works. he won't allow for this natural progression, so there's little we can do for him.

Im also having this same problem.........it says play gta san andreas, and at the bottom, it has install direct x 9, so it installs, but then, when it goes to the menu, it still says install direct x 9
