Can you kill people without any sense?

In gta i never kill people without reason. I don't know why but it's like that, i don't enjoy beating people to death in the street... of course when i take turns by car i shoot a loot of people each time . Ah yes i kill police officers, everytime it makes me sh*t, then i drive and a cop throws himself under my wheels, then he dies and i got 2 stars

Let him have his 'firepower'. I agree that babies shouldn't be included in GTA, but certainly not because it will make Jack Thompson mad. Only a sellout would censor their games to appease a radical Christian lawyer.

No it didn't come to a close. I don't recall anyone claiming that including kids was a good business decision. That's a completely different argument.

i didn't say it was a good business decision, i just agreed that the game might be banned if gta had kids in it.

Almost every game is about killing people. And none of them is about killing kids. Now, why is that .....Think about that for a second and ask yourself - can we still be friends?

killing kids to me is exactly like killing any other ped. THey're still human beings(relating to real life) and there's nothing really that different between them besides kids are kids, they haven't gone through puberty aand haven't experienced a lot in life yet. So to me killing a kid is like killing a person. But I'm not saying i would like to do that. I think in bioshock you kill little girls or something like that.

I say it's justifiable because it's a perfectly logical, sensical point. Killing kids in real life is much worse than killing adults in real life, the same feeling is felt with a digital representation of a child, in my opinion.

 

Okay think of it like this: You hear about some psycho who goes on a rampage in a mall and kills fifteen people with a shotgun. You go "Damn, that's screwed up. I feel sorry for those people. Shame on that guy". You hear about a psycho that bombed an elementary school, killing the same number of kids. Now, which seems worse, the fifteen adults, or the fifteen children. Sure, they're both human beings, therefore they're equal, the same loss, you have the same feeling that you had with the first guy, right? Not really, many would agree with me that the killing of the fifteen kids easily outweighs the fifteen adults deaths. Because its bad, for lack of a better word, it's just plain disgusting. Now, I'd rather neither happened, as everyone else would.

 

Now how does this translate into a digital being? Sure, it shouldn't matter, they're both the same, they're not actually living. It's just worse to kill a digital child than a digital adult. It's in bad taste, it's not even fun, it adds nothing to gameplay, and the cost of having that type of realism against doing something that we consider extremely morally wrong isn't worth it. I know, it's weird discussing morality in GTA, but in this type of case it really warrants it. Even though it's technically no different from killing a goblin in Baldur's Gate, it's just not right.

The good thing about games is that it's all pretend.

 

Just because you played cops n robbers as a kid didn't influence you to go into a life of crime (or at least not all of you). I shot at lots of other kids playing cowboys and indians but it never done me any harm and neither has GTA.

Since 4th grade i've been exposed to:

-cursing

-sexual material

-violence (Normal, and gang-related)

-and of course, people being picked on to the point of near insanity

 

Let's add in kids from grade 5 and up, i'd love killing the little bastards.

I am a teenager, and I wouldn't mind being killed in a videogame.

 

Since the majority of you on here are adults, most of you haven't seen what schools are like nowadays, and you don't know how kid's minds are in these times. So let me just tell you..

Kids are not defenseless, or innocent.

No one is pure. The only sites on which you find people described as ‘innocent’ turn out to be porn sites. Young children swear and scream at their parents. No one sits around drinking tea. No one has a white wooden rope swing in their garden, and nobody thinks before they speak. No one wears long dresses, even if there is no reason to. No one wears monocles. Chivalry lives in history, and everyone hates history because it’s boring. I don’t though, I think history rocks, because for the most part, all of the people weren’t dicks like they are today. History was cool because people weren’t shallow f*cks. They’d better themselves, whereas today people put everyone else down so they don’t realise how worthless they are.

No one knows what to say, and when it needs to be said. I’m not innocent. I blaspheme and I hate. I shout and piss people off. I get angry and try to break things.

 

People try to act innocent, but it’s tired. They act vulnerable and pure, and shy, but won’t hesitate to brag, in the loudest most annoying voice concievable about how many alco-pops they had last Saturday.No one is quiet any more. No one has ‘oaths’.

Everyone shouts, drinks, takes drugs, swears at cops and beats the sh*t out of each other. Society sucks. People are suspicious of everyone else, and at the same time bitch because everyone is too suspicious of everyone else. The word ‘friend’ stands for jack all.

 

Questions like ‘Have you ever commited a crime?’ become ‘What crime did you commit last?’. ‘Have you ever consumed alcahol?’ is now ‘How nailed were you last night?’. ‘Are you in a relationship?’ is now ‘How many STD’s do you have?’. People want car insurance. People like to put other people down.

Even newly born people are only pure for about 5 minutes. When they scream to get something, they become impure. When their parents spoil them, they become selfish whores like the rest of us. Everyone hates their parents, and everyone talks behind everyone else’s backs. Everyone’s legs are open more than their mouths. Everyone sucks.

You haven't presented any logic to conclude that the double standard is justifiable. You simply asserted that it is justifiable, using pseudo-synonyms such as "sensical" and "logical," exemplified that the double standard exists, and then stated that many people would agree with you. That's not justifying it.

There are a lot of people who, if they had to choose, would rather people of a different race be killed than people of their own race. it's the fact that you can think of such a thing. We never hear on the news about people eating and raping baby's in real life. It's new to us, it's sick, it's wrong.

 

We see people get killed all the time, in movies, in the news, in games.

All humans are equal though. But why you would opt to killing a new born baby, something that can't fight back at all, is so wrong I can't even express it.

So if someone in real life did this to a baby and it was on the tv news, would it only then be ok to do it in real life?

 

I'm sure no one cares to have babies in GTA to eat, so the point of the debate must be that there should be children or that you can rape whoever you want.

 

I'm sure if R* added children, and added option of raping whatever you see, the politicians would put a spin on it so it sounds "It's a game which encourages and rewards you for raping innocent children and women!!".

 

Anyway even if I could I would try to avoid the option of raping in GTA because I find it distasteful entertainment for a videogame. But maybe I'd do it once to see how they've done it out of curiosity.

 

But I agree with the poster who effectively said that some children are more evil then army drill sergents, so I could imagine the children I'm killing to be the most terrible kind of bullies who beat me senceless as a kid. I could definitely strangle, cut and torture teenagers in a game though, but I wouldn't go nuts with kids, and I wouldn't want little kiddies to be in the game at all.

 

I can easily make due with just adults, if they only put them in, and I wouldn't complain.

I mean, on other GTA games sure I was a cynical rampager, but I never thought, hm, it'd be pretty cool if i took this rocket launcher and shot it at a some mother with a stroller. You're some -once again- f*cked up people. Hope you realize you're fighting a losing battle of ethics, since killable children will never be put in games, so long as there is government and ESRB. So shut the hell up and get back onto the topic of would you kill these new realistic people.

I am not quite sure if I will go crazy and kill people as I haven't played the game yet but by what Games Rader stated the game will seem more real than ever. On of them stated that they don't look like paper targets anymore but look like real, living. breathing, emotional human beings. This could well effect if I want too kill randoms or not but I think I will mainly only kill people when I need too.

Basically, you're saying, if adults were innocent, than you wouldn't kill adults. Where do you draw the line? And how can innocence determine if they deserve to be killed? That's saying because you understand the world now, and even though you didn't commit any crimes, you just did some small superficial things, now you are worthy of death. Someone mentioned, and I'm not sure if they were joking, about trying to remove people that think that killing babies/children in a video game is ok. What, can we not have our opinion?
