I don't think they are anywhere near close the amount of realism needed to affect peoples moral behaviour in game. No disrespect to these developers but it will never feel real to sit in on your sofa with a control pad and the world in your TV.

 

One of the greatest things about GTA is that it gives you the environment to go a little crazy and shoot the place up...or not. It's up to you how much crazy you have.

 

I like to go hella crazy between missions (with no regards for decency) but I try to keep a low profile while on a mission and can often be upset by running a ped over (if I get seen doing it). This means most of my time spent playing GTA has been rampaging around - maybe MP will change this.

 

The thing that will make or break this game for me will be how the game plays when I'm creating mayhem because after the missions that's what GTA is about.

But anything like raping baby's, killing baby's, eating baby's peeing on baby's. is just wrong.

I mean, imagine if GTA 3-D didn't exist and suddenly it came out, with all the violent things you could do in it. I don't want to get on the debate of what certain people would do to babies in GTA, but do you really think the game is about Nico having a better (cleaner) life? Sure you most likely won't be able to smuggle and sell people, but how's killing alone such an improvement?

 

Anyway I can't vote because there's no option 'I'm not too careful about not killing (collateral damage), like when taking turns. If it wasn't for the fact it damages your car I'm sure I'd be running over more peds more frequently.

 

I just don't find it exciting going nuts in free time, anymore. Hopefully GTAIV will bring back the thrill with Euphoria physics and nicer graphics.

i would love for the peds in this game have a lot more personality, and make us really think through if we should kill them.

For instance if you point a gun at someone DIRECTLY at close range they could collapse on the floor as a shivering wreck (pointing a gun at them from a distance would just make them run away depending if they thought they could make it out alove or not) or some might be like "ive got kids" and if you lower the gun they could either wimper away collecting their groceries or depedning on their personality tackle you down and call for cops.

On the other hand some character such as the villians or henchmen should have personalities also for instance some could be all rambo kamikazee when they see the odds are stacked up against them or others could be rookies and when outnumbered drop their guns or curl up in a corner begging to live.
