tourqeglare
Forgive me for posting in the wrong area, if I violated that rule. -- The search isn't working either... I have an early US copy of San Andreas on PS2 with Hot Coffee (I imagine). It doesn't have a ghastly red greatest hits strip on it or anything. My brother and I are stuck on the final mission (not in the I cant beat the game manner, because we have several times now) because if we save after we have won and killed Tenpenny, the data becomes corrupted when we load and the game restarts. My question is, is there a way to avoid the corrupted data, and save properly so that the riots are all settled down? Better yet, is there a workaround that doesn't allow me to have to go and get another SA and play through that? I'm short on funds... Thanks for helping me. Girish
Maybe the disc is damaged. Hence, the game fails to continue after the final mission. In this case, not much can be done about data getting corrupted.

In this case, not much can be done about data getting corrupted. The symptom is corrupt game data. The disc has nothing to do with this as a save is a dump of memory to memory card. @torque: What kind of memory card is it? Are you close to capacity? Have you tried other slots? Other cards? Other points in the storyline?

The game will save at any other point successfully. The result is the same no matter the slot, card space, or the card itself. I think that girishb_86 is correct to a degree. I remember (as of this moment) some people having the same problem and finding workarounds. I unfortunately did not pay attention due to not owning SA at the time, so I don't remember what was said. Demarest
The result is the same no matter the slot, card space, or the card itself. Does this include Sony cards? Since the early days of PSX, it has been known to not touch 3rd party memcards. My understanding of the way the game works told me from the start that it was likely a 3rd party memcard and now knowing that's what you're using, I'm stuck with that. I do have a Sony card, and I will try it. I'll report back here with results. Thank you.
tourqeglare
Forgive me for bumping an old topic (is the situation an exception?), I havent had time to do much. The result is the same on a Sony card. Just updating a little on the situation, albeit a little late.
