I think it is more difficult with cheatcodes. More bugs, crashes, missing items, etc. You'll end up starting over the game eventually.

 

Everybody knows the trick to up your weapons inventory -> save and load game repeatedly.

This is not true! Here is the list of things that cheating will commit you to:

 

-lower criminal rating

-warning that saving will preserve your lowered criminal rating

@malibudance: Many, MANY people have completed this game, to 100%, without cheats. After GTA3, it was no real challenge at all.

i used cheats while playing vice city but i was just using gettherefast and at some missions aspirine for some people cheats are a way to make game easier

I've completed each GTA to 100% without cheats (VCS is still pending-- I'm at about 60%)-- no problems at all-- yes some missions are difficult-- thats what makes it fun and challenging...

I don't understand why people claim it's hard without cheats... Have you ever tried it? Most times you'll just need to stop off at a Pay N Spray as I'd presume the cheat you're using most is "lower wanted level". If it's health, use the save and reload trick, or learn the locations of health and armour pickups around the city.

You would only need to reload if you're saving to reduce your wanted level. The health comes automatically.

 

If I feel things are going to get deep, I just make sure I fill up my health and armor beforehand. Or use side missions to my benefit. In GTA3, get enough packages to have armor waiting at home. In VC, do Pizza Boy early, and so on.

Yeah, I agree with u, but it impossible not to use cheats, e.g. BIGBANG, SEAWAYS, & LEAVE ME ALONE. And if u can't get the closest ASPIRINE, or an armor, u have to type it, Sometimes people really use them to make the game easier. But it's really impossible not to use them. What can u say about this?

Just because YOU cannot fathom it, doesn't make it impossible. Don't post lies. BIGBANG is never necessary. SEAWAYS has nothing to do with the game at all. LEAVEMEALONE is never necessary. Consult maps if you have to. There are plenty of Bribes and Pay N Sprays for dodging wanted levels. Or, as I do with Cop Land, you can just make do with them in effect. Not even close to impossible.

Show one lie I've told. Your inability to face your own indequacies does not convey you the ability to tell other forum goers to f*ck off. I did not say BIGBANG is a bad cheat; I said that it is not necessary. You said it was necessary and you lied in doing so. You say SEAWAYS helps you pass Death Row, but so does a heli or any vehicle for that matter. I've done it in the Trashmaster that's parked there WITH a popped tire. YOU might not be able to pass it without cheats, but that doesn't mean it is impassable without cheats. You said it is and you were wrong. That's not something I did.

You make me angry with yo reply. I must say that passing the DEATH ROW is much easy with SEAWAYS. To avoid Diaz's people. I blow up this trashmaster to kill them. And there, where Lance was sitting, there was a car, Toyota Supra, (in my version), I don't know what is the name of this in the original version of VC. So, I say I like BIGBANG very much, and it makes fun, when peds come to see the trash car, I blow up it again, so there are some victims 'cause of it, and certainly, MONEY. That's what I like in this game, as Tommy says I NEED THE MONEY, or SORRY, BUT I NEED THAT, etc... Got it.

Peds riot, as a side effect, will impact certain missions. No cheat impacts the game itself though.

 

@malibudance: The fact that YOU like it play it that way, I like to play it another way, and this guy over here plays it a third way is the beauty of not only the GTA series, but individuals in general. However, just because you prefer to do it WITH cheats does not mean you can make the false statement that it is impossible without was my point.

Maybe, but I've learned English 15 years, 9 classes in the scool, 4 years individual, and now I suppose to be a inrepreter. But I'll not. Cause I hate grammar, and not only of the English, Russian, German, Armenian, (if ever heard about this country, situated behind Turkey). French grammar, etc... But Most of all these grammars, the Russian and the German are the difficult. As a russian speaker, I can say, that it's terrible. but I like russian language, and certainly English. But I have problems with their grammar.

Vice City literally has bribes around every corner, unless you're in Downtown and used the bribe at the Hyman Condo. Then you're stuck with being shot at in Little Haiti.

Going off of your profile, when you were about two or three years old, NES games had begun to put cheats in the game. They found that people liked this. Modern day, if you look, you'll find people like to mod their game. Not out of necessity, but to make it interesting. Cheats are baby mods, but on the fly.

 

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Just because YOU use or need to use cheats, does not mean they are necessary. The world is bigger than you and you've already had several people RIGHT HERE tell you they can do it without. Nobody has berated you for needing cheats, so maybe it's time to accept that your VC skills have room for improvement. We can help. If you give me a for instance as to a point in the game you need cheats, maybe I can point out a non-cheat approach.

 

As for me, I never use cheats my first time through. And the only time I ever use them is actually BECAUSE I already beat the game 100%. What I mean by that is say I'm playing Paramedic and it's been a rough run. It's level 11 and my Ambulance just caught on fire. I don't need to stop and start all over. I've already beaten Paramedic with pure skill and know I can, so I use the Health cheat to heal my vehicle. Of course present day, I usually use Time Vault VC to pass Paramedic and Taxi Driver when playing to 100% because they're so dull. Same with trainers. Same scenario except this time my Ambulance isn't on fire, it's just hopelessly flipped. So I'll fire up the Admin Console, hit the flip car button and close it down.

 

Cheats are NOT necessary. You'll just have to accept that. Your theory that they're there, so they must be necessary doesn't hold water.

I agree with Demarest 100%! From my own experience I learned that as soon as you start constantly use cheats, the whole gaming experience becomes pointless. I loose interest to play the game straight away, because there are no more challenges for me.

So, that was very interesting reply, I agree with u, I just use them for fun. Especially bigbang. I like to blow up cars. When peds come to see the trashed car, I blow it up again. And if there are money around, I take them. Just that. But seaways is a good cheat. I often use it to cut my way, and go with a short way. Is it such big fault?

The next time you have trouble passing a tough mission, look for suggestions on how to make your way through that mission, without having to resort to cheats.

The satisfaction of knowing you did it yourself, is a better feeling than finding a cheat code that helps you pass.

I've seen codes for "Bobble-heads" which gives everyone a huge balloon head. Very Funny, and was made for a visual laugh.

Nobody faulted you for using cheats. I've only faulted you for making false statements, such as they're necessary. Take SEAWAYS for example. I made a topic years ago that demonstrates how to get to the west island first thing without cheating and how to shoehorn that advantage into a BIG advantage. Since then and even before then, there have been other ways documented on how to do it. So again, nobody faults you for using cheats. They're there and if you're okay with using them, enjoy them! But you can't come on a public forum with a global audience and say that they are necessary and not expect to be corrected. No more no less. Nobody thinks of you any less for that and if you mistake something we're saying as that, it's not judgement, but an encouragement to give it a shot without cheats. It will be a bit more frustrating, but that means when you overcome that frustration, it will feel that much more rewarding. And since it sounds like you never have, it will be like playing a whole new game!
