K4miL
I find two new Previews with info's of Matty's Blog, but I can't download the Scans. Here are Info's from PSU3 Magazine UK - Issue 10 and OP2M UK - June 2007 PSU3 Magazine UK - Issue 10 Game: GTA IVMagazine: Playstation 3 Unlimited Magazine Issue: June 2007 This was the tenth preview for GTA IV in a magazine The UK edition of the Playstation 3 Unlimited Magazine recently provided a new preview on GTA IV to readers in that country, but it contained a few more details about GTA IV. Below is a summary of new information from the 6 page preview article. * New Camera Angles (About four altogether) * In-car camera puts you in a sort of first-person mode, looking across the bonet * You can use the right analogue stick to move 360 degrees around the vehicle * Day and night weather effects aren't merely for show * Weather effects will affect the game beyond mere visual gloss * During the day you'll find more pedestrians miling around, and with more traffic on the streets * At night, there'll be fewer cars and fewer people around too. * It may or may not affect the missions, depending on what time of day you accomplish them. OP2M UK - June 2007 Game: GTA IVMagazine: Official Playstation 2 UK Magazine Issue: June 2007 This was the eleventh preview for GTA IV in a magazine The UK edition of the Official Playstation 2 UK Magazine recently provided a new preview on GTA IV to readers in that country, it contained a few more details about GTA IV. Below is a summary of new information from the 4 page preview article. * Bollards poke out from the earth at wonky angles * There's rubbish everywhere * To get from one end of Liberty City to the other will take you at least an hour. * Vehicles Confirmed o Trains o Buses o Underground Subway System * Mobile Phone can now make calls and receive them for the first time. * Niko is aged somewhere between 35-40 years old. * Getting arrested will have far greater consequences than before, bearing in mind Niko's criminal past and illegal immigrant status. Thx to Matty's Blog!
G MONEY $$$
To get from one end of Liberty City to the other will take you at least an hour. I definitely doubt that, especially when the city is smaller than the whole of San Andreas. Thanks for posting!

Grandthefter
* Getting arrested will have far greater consequences than before, bearing in mind Niko's criminal past and illegal immigrant status. This sounds interesting, i cant expect them to deport you or anything everytime you get captured but i cant see how they can make it any different apart from take money as a bribe to allow you to stay in the country? Maybe instead of waking up at a station you wake up at the dock everytime after you've just smuggled yourself back in?
TonyResta
Heres my opinion on how getting arrested will have far greater consequences than before. http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=279451
AndyGanteks
* Getting arrested will have far greater consequences than before, bearing in mind Niko's criminal past and illegal immigrant status. .some people will remember you! For example, if you shoot a cop down and a witness bumbs into you later in the game.He/she will scream and run away from you without doing a thing wrong." Cops will rememver for some of your crimes and people will remember you if you killed somebody infront of them.I'm just guessing that everyone in the game will have its home and life and have a 24H schedule. But as i said earlier i'm still preparing a topic based on this.It is going to be very interesting!! truthspitta
1 "GTA hour" is very little. Seriously, what do you think? 60 minutes? Has it been confirmed that the time is 1sec = 1min for this GTA?
TenaciousD.
Either way it sounds wrong. Real hour can't be because SA took about 15min to get across in real time and it has been confirmed that GTAIV map is smaller then SA map. Ingame time sounds wrong because a ingame hour is 1minute. It'd be tough to get across GTA3 Shoreside Vale (the smallest 'island' in the 3d GTA games) in 1 GTA hour.
Daz
Yeah one hour cant be right, for example, even in True Crime: Streets of LA which was HUGE it would take you 45 minutes in a car speeding down the highway to get to the end. Unless they mean walking, or in a normal car in the day where there is traffic. If its one game hour thats f*cking lame, since that is one minute. I dont think it was even that quick in GTA3. That must be wrong. Unless it means completing missions to get to the other end, but even an hour for that is pretty quick. I dont understand that. tmac9wr
An hour seems a little long, but it could be that there's no direct way to get from one end of the city to the other. I'd imagine there's no highways in LC so since you have no direct way of getting from one side to the complete other, it might take you awhile. Brian Forbes
I don't think think this time 1hr = 60secs. It's a mystery how they would approach this and untill we have this article we'll have to take it out of context or the writter is full of sh*t. tommasi
To get from one end of Liberty City to the other will take you at least an hour. I heard that one of the phones' functions is to move immediately to the location where the mission is taking place ! So where is the problem here ? And let's back to SA , how much time do you spend on moving from the start of one city to the end of the others !?

Source? I must say I reckon the ingame time will change so its maybe an hour in GTA time is about 5 minutes in real time
Adriaan
I got the scans a few minutes ago, I'll upload them in a while. The information about taking an hour to cross the map was just a silly speculative part, like many other parts in the article. You'll see when I upload scans. Scans... (All compressed, retaining its original size. No new screenshots.) RoundTrip
I quote: "In previous GTA games, driving from one end of a city to the other rarely took longer than 10 or 15 minutes. To get from one side of the new and improved Liberty City to the other will take you at least an hour." I mean COMON! This is stupid. What do they base it on? A direct statement from Houser? Also the quote is badly written in my opinion. "10 or 15 minutes" ? Also too long a 2nd sentence without a ,
tommasi
I think that the four states won't open untile you make enough progress in the game. So, we'll spend alot of time on one state, and explore the entire state. Therefore, if we leave the first state , I thinke we won't be interested to come back again. JohnnyDrama
What? I thought jetpacks were in.. HOUSER said it himself. I'd rather the new Liberty City be without those (jetpacks). After all, Rockstar is trying for a more realistic approach. In my opinion, it just doesn't have a place in this new, more realistic environment. On another note, I'd love to hear the direct quote about taking an hour to get around the entire city. Surely this was a misunderstanding on someone's behalf. If not, we're looking at either busy streets (traffic jams?) or a complicated street system. You know, it's possible that's why previous articles have commented on the subway system and ferries. Maybe the city really does take that long to get around, and you're able to quick-trip -- via subway and ferry -- only after you've done it manually. Heck, maybe you're even able to quick-trip via taxi cabs. It's just a thought.
RoundTrip
That's one opinion. But what has that to do with the quote (in your pic) I do think they will make missions and happenings in such a way that we are "forced" back sometimes..

Why wouldn't they sell the "1 hour crossing" bit.. It's probably a sick guess based on nothing.. Or Rockstar is REALLY messing with us.. Either way.. headache..
