Machienzo
I've got a little problem with my GTA3 PC, which I'm currently fixing. Would anyone be able to provide me with a gamesave which has unlocked the last island, and is a close as it can be to the last mission, if not just before it. So in other words, I need a gamesave which I can play the "The Exchange". Certain reasons for this are that my game progress is currently halted due to a small error. Demarest
Save N Play is the place to ask for saves. But I can help you just the same. If you're just looking to play that mission, grab my Timetwister mod. It allows you to start a new game and go straight to any mission you want, as many times as you want. Otherwise, you can grab my Time Vault Code Tool, which passes missions for you. Start a new game and just keep starting each storyline mission, which is then passed for you. With travel time, you're probably looking at 15 minutes and voila, a custom save!
Machienzo
Sorry for sounding noobish or annoying. Where could I find this mod/tool?
Justin
At Dem's site. The Code Tools are also listed in a pinned topic here.
Machienzo
Demarest, do you think you could make a main.scm file which can operate like the Timetwister mod and also have the elevator for the construction building?
radioman
Demarest, do you think you could make a main.scm file which can operate like the Timetwister mod and also have the elevator for the construction building? I'm not Demerest, but I can answer your question. He does have a Timetwister mod and a construction lift mod right here. These have a "pre-compiled main.scm file in the down load. Hope this helps. Machienzo
No, what I mean is the both the mods are different main.scm files. I was wondering if Demarest could make it the the construction lift mod and the timetwister mod work on the one main.scm file... Also, I've been searching the gta.img file for the 3 blue loading screens using TXD Workshop. Any chance someone could provide those 3 for me, seeing as I'm having no luck searching for them... Demarest
I'm pretty sure he means at the same time. @Machienzo: Sure. In fact, since Timetwister comes with the source code, and the Construction Lift little snippet can be viewed as just code, anybody with Barton Waterduck's Mission Builder 4.7 for GTAIII can just add Construction Lift TO Timetwister In fact, if this is new to you, my site even has a newly updated instructions for installing code snippets into your main.scm. [EDIT] When I originally made this post, Machienzo's latest post was not there yet. For modding help, you should probably look into the modding forums. People have been playing with the loading screens for five years now, so there's bound to be documentation on the subject. Something to keep in mind is that all GTA3D's have a folder called txd that is full of TXD's including the aptly named splash screens Edited May 26, 2007 by Demarest
Machienzo
I really hate to sound... whats the word... I don't know, but anyway... I wouldn't even know where to start with this. And to be hones, I don't feel comfortable with messing with the main.scm at the moment. My game is already messed up as it is. Could you please provide me with detailed intsructions. Once again, sorry for calling so much from you Demarest...
Demarest
I have. And when I did, you told me it was too much for you. Repeating myself would just, again, be too much for you. Maybe if you gave it a shot and told me what part of my insructions were confusing?
Machienzo
Well, it said on the thing to insert any new code just before :----------MISSION 0------- or something like that. So I just copied the code for the Lift and pasted it before the Mission 0 thing. Was that right? It doesn't seem to work. I used Mission Builder 4.7 like you said. Also, thanks for VAST support with the Timetwister, I was able to finish my project. GTA3 - The Ultimate Tribute to Liberty I found out a few things too! 8-Ball's real name is actually Mullan. Suprising what you'll find! Edited May 26, 2007 by Machienzo
Demarest
Sorry I missed this somehow. I never heard the name Mullan. Guess it wouldn't matter if I did since I still respectfully call your character Fido Sounds like you did good with that part. Did you remember the create_thread? The instructions say you need to add a create_thread in with the others. It needs to point to the first label of the thread, which in this case would be LabelCONLIFT. You are very welcome for such support. I made that mod with myself and other developers in mind. See, I have (or had) a set of master saves so I could hop into any point in the game. I was doing walkthrough work, screens for the forums, etc. Armed with the Admin Console, you can pretty much accomplish whatever you want EXCEPT jumping the timeline. I made Timetwister to address that. So you'll be happy to know that what you've used it for, you were actually my intended core audience
Machienzo
What did you think of it? I may be exaggerating a bit but I probably couldn't have done it without your mod. It did make it a ton easier.
