Machienzo
Recently, I have been playing GTA3 on PC. I came upon an error near the beginning of the game. Just when I completed the mission "Last Request", the game froze, and an error message occurred. This had not happened the last time I completed that mission, as I have save files after that mission. I tried to un-install and re-install the game, delete the GTA3 Settings file in GTA3 Users Folder, and even installed the V1.1 Patch as recommended. The error still occurs, and I am not sure how to fix it. If you would have any support for this problem, please help me. I also updated the DirectX 8.1. Also, whenever I try to enter the blue mission rings to activate either Kenji's "Kanbu-Bust Out" or Donald Love's "Waka-Gashira Wipeout", nothing happens. The mission simply doesn't start. I also have Ray's Mission "Marked Man" available which starts fine, but the problem is that I haven't unlocked Shoreside yet. What can I do? Demarest
What can I do? Consult the pinned posting requirements. You did a good job telling us some things you tried. And although the reinstall IMPLIES it's not modded, you've never actually said so. Just based on what you've said, the only things I can think of are mods or slow CPU. Give us some more info. Also, deleting the SET file would not address this, nor would the 1.1 patch which addresses very specific issues.
T.N.G.O.G.
Post system specs, did you also install some mods or something?
Machienzo
Well, I'm not quite sure how to show my system specs (I don't know too much with Computers) but the mods I've used are "Odie and Illspirits Highway Intercity Mod", I did try the "Statue of Liberty" mod as well, and the "Liberty Prison" which is situated right next the the statue of liberty. The Highway and Statue could not work properly together, so I had the statue unistalled. I also had that mod that makes the game much harder. But I didn't really like so I replaced it with the original "main.scm". Just to note, I back up EVERYTHING I mod. I remember that my first error was the mission "The Getaway" when the robbers run in the bank, it froze. Then I reinstalled and clean the disc and it worked fine. I also tried to change the model of the Diablo Stallion to another car. I think it was a Mustang or somethin. But it didn't work and everytime I tried to find one. it would freeze. I tried the same with a Police Car but it froze as soon as it started (Blue Screen faded away completely.) Thats all I can remember for now. Another thing, I have a back up of the entire files which are on the C:\ when I first got it installed. No mods. If I replaced the one nows with them, would that help? Machienzo
What is usually related to activating missions? The "anim" folder? With the GTA3 Patch, it has some Audio patch too. Am I correct? Does that mean when you copy it to your directory, it's "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTAIII\Audio" or just "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTAIII" and every audio file in the GTAIII folder? (I aks alot of questions dont I. ) Edited May 26, 2007 by Machienzo

If I replaced the one nows with them, would that help? Nobody can say for sure, but it's something you have to try before posting in Troubleshooting. If the game works but a modded game won't, there's your answer. As for the patch, I THINK that's right. I wouldn't know because I use a no-CD EXE, which offers playing off the hard drive built in.
