JasonB
Oh I don't have any online games yet, but it is fun to send messages and Miis for the time being. I must say, the online support and system for the Wii is less than impressive. Friend Codes are a phenomenally bad and inefficient idea and the lack of online games and centralised online play system just compounds the problem. They should have made a more Xbox Live-ish type online system. Even so the messaging system is a fun little thing, even if it is just like email. asimov
I recently came into a large sum of money, how I did it is irrelevant but I can now buy a small library of games for my Wii. I decided on - Metroid (whatever it is called, I just heard the controls/game play kickass) - The new Zelda - DBZ 3/Smash Bros when they come out - Resident evil 4 + light gun I can pretty much buy all of them now, but I'll wait until after the Christmas/nye celebrations calm down so I can get some spare time to play them all...joy! asimov
I got Mario Galaxy already, that is the only game I have aside from Wii sports. Speaking of which I'm only 1 power star from the "centre of the galaxy" which is pretty cool. I think I have between 60 and 70 power stars now, long way to go... CharisL
I'm going shopping tomorrow and might pick up a Wii game if anyone has any suggestions? I already have Zelda, Mario and the like, I want something that would be extreme fun to play anytime.
asimov
Well I've just beaten Bowser, the last level was fairly hard but alot of fun at the same time. I am Kinda over it for now though so I'll get Zelda or Metroid next, not sure which I'll just flip a coin to decide.
asimov
I got DBZ 2 (tenachaki or whatever) for chrissy, I was kinda dissapointed because I told mum I wanted to wait for the 3rd one but it is still a pretty cool game. The controls take some getting used to but once you get the combos down pat it rocks. ! give it 3 cookies .
uzi 9mm
We all got a Wii for Christmas (not 1 each, between my 2 brothers and sister). We decided to get one as our friend let us borrow his and it was good, Wii sports is good fun for multiplayer and the whole idea of using a remote with a sensor doesn't actually seem that good untill you use it. I used to have a Snes, the N64, then a GC but never planned on the Wii but eventually we got one, and obviously the Zelda game isone to get, and Mario Galaxy after when the shops get more cos it was sold out. Overall, people can't really compare it to PS3 or 360, it's dumb, the Wii is not as powerfull as the other 2 and we know it, it's not even HD compatible, Nintendo went for the cheaper option, and, it still managed to sell more. Everybody has a Wii. And when it comes down to it, it's all about who makes the most money in order to make an even better machine for the next gen. It was a big risk for Nintendo to release the Wii for what it is but it definately payed off, you have to rate them for that. People that do like to sit there and talk of one console in particular so specially as if they were the ones who made it, are, in the words of a simpleton, sad. Ok maybe you just like to have a strong opinion and state your views with agreession towards competitors, or maybe you feel gutted at the fact that you only could afford 1 of the 3, and can't stand to hear anything bad said about what you purchased. Either ways you need to get a life. Maybe since the Wii is a more fun on multiplayer and a lot of game freaks enjoy sitting there on their own in their own world with no one else there, that is their reason for dispisng the Wii, so Billy no mates will obviously talk badly of it because he has no friends to play the Wii with. That probably a main reason for not liking the Wii. So anyone who does hate the Wii, you probably have nobody to play it with because I don't know how anyone could not enjoy multiplayer on Wii Sports, there's something for eveyone there. Your statements are so true in regards that in is incomparable to the other two to that I agree. I tried to get my older sister a wii but was dumb and left it to the last minute thinking supply would be higher this xmas boy was I wrong. I lent her mine once and she liked it but she is a Zelda fan. I ended up getting her both seasons to Rome to which I think she is more happy with. I have all 3 systems at the moment the 360 gets the most play and the ps3 for its bluray and sometimes games but it my latest addition. I will be going over to my girlfriends house with the wii to play with her and her sister though. Time for some bowling and tennis. Nintendo did the right thing though trust me my Aunts and Uncles who are not normally gamers are urging to buy one after just one play through so Nintendo is winning over the non-gamers which is the biggest target market out there if you think about it. TOGA62
I purchased a wii for my family for christmas and this console has turned every member of my family into gamers. My sister and her husband tried it out, and we couldn't get them off of wii sports like Tennis or boxing. My mom is in love with Rapala Fishing, and can sit for hours fishing for digital fishies My dad, the least likely of the bunch to get into gaming, has been enjoying trying out things like wii sports and we are going to get him to give mario party 8 a try soon too. According to my mother, all my aunts and uncles have been playing as well. So Nintendo, congrats on doing the one thing Sony and Microsoft has yet to be able to accomplish, reach out to ALL age and interest groups. If they can make my diverse family all enjoy playing their system, they must have done something correct. uzi 9mm
Well yeah naturally Nintendo went the right way when it comes to drawing in the herd. I go in people's houses everyday (I install phone lines) and 8 out of 10 families have Wii's, even young couples in their 20's have a Wii.
asimov
@ Toga, a friend of mine got MArio Party a while ago and he said it was pretty average. Mainly because you have to do alot of work unlocking all the games. It isin't like the first one(s) where you could just play everything straight away. Deuce Deuce
I played on one of these a few days ago, I have to say the fun factor is pretty high but I noticed a few problems here and there. - The remote doesn't control your every move and can get annoying. - As expected, the graphics have nothing over the 360 or PS3, but aren't bad per se. Just cartoony. - Nintendo should have writted in the manual, "It is not guaranteed you won't get smacked in the face, so watch your movement." Apart from that, very fun. Boxing is a blast. I wouldn't spend money on one though, but hey.. it's just not for me.

Gouveia
I got Wii Sports(DUH), Wii Play, Spiderman Friend or Foe and Medal of Honor heroes 2 for the wii. It rocks. Wii Sports and Wii Play will get you pumped. It's like a "noob-to-pro Wiimote user" Tutorial. Spiderman Friend or Foe is a funny beat'em up, although don't use that much the motion sensitive controls. MOHH2 ROCKS. I mean, it's a really fun game, it has good graphics and also, you can have a 32-players online experience, on the Wii!
asimov
I got a Wii for Christmas. I'm not really sure what to do with it. I had never intended on owning one. I hear that, I told my mum as soon as they came out that I liked them, but would never buy one. When she hinted about it in June/July last year about getting one for me, I told her again that I really don't want one. She got me one for my birthday in Sept. I played Wii sports for like a week and didn’t touch it until Christmas when I got DBZ. They are good fun, but I wouldn't go out and buy one myself. Come to think of it I wouldn't buy any console myself.

asimov
There's a whole bunch of different shaped Wii remote holsters, like machine guns, hand guns etc. Seeing as the remote itself is already a "light-gun" theres no point in making specific gun shaped Wiimotes(?). edit* I had forgotten about Mario kart. I scoped it out and the release date seems to be early-mid this year, I can't wait it should be ace. I’m not too about the steering wheel attachment for the wiimote though, I’ll definitely give it a whirl before I buy it. RoAcHcliP
Hefty bump, but hey better than starting a new topic. This is just a rant. Im getting really sick and tired of all the CRAP they are releasing on the wii. The games are rushed, boring, ugly and generally sh*t. I recently traded in Resident evil 4 (which was one of the only games i found to be good on this console) for umbrella chronicals. What the f*ck are game developers thinking when they release this sh*t? isn't there anyone who they get to play test it, who says "hang on guys this is totally crap. Lets spend some time to make it better". Im going to take it back tomorrow to get something else, but herein lies the problem. All the other games look total sh*t too, either kiddy games no one has ever heard of, or crappier games for adults, all of which look like sh*te. Theres another rail shooter just come out, the single player is 45 minutes! What in the f*ck. Theres some sh*tty little party games which i dont want. My only choices seem to be between paper mario and lego star wars, paper mario being notorious for extremely long dialogue, and my housemate already has star wars on his xbox. Super Mario galaxy was fantastic, and one of the best gaming experienes ive had in my life. It showed that with the right amount of work, the Wii can have nicer graphics and fun gameplay. Its been over the initial period where apologists say "the developers need time to make better games", its been well over that year and theres still total f*cking sh*t coming out.All i have to look forward to is super smash brothers, the rest of the time this console is gonna sit there next to my TV, and do f*cking nothing. I find it a real kick in the balls that this console was so hyped, but more than a year on there is a VERY thin catalogue of games where only about 10 percent are any good. I know thats what people have been saying for ages, but after Mario Galaxy I had some hope restored in this system. Why cant game developers even see how sh*t these games are. They probably know they are sh*t, but release them anyway, with crappy controls, sh*t graphics and boring gameplay. Any suggestions for which game I should trade umbrella chronicals in for? I have excite truck and galaxy already.
Forty
I totally agree with you, mang. I got a Wii for Christmas and I've played it twice. Other than SMG and Smash Bros., there is nothing worth buying or playing. All of the reviews in Game Informer each month have ratings of 5.5 or less, which is garbage. There are endless party games with zero substance, little replay value, and HORRIBLE controls. Why in god's name is it so difficult to produce a quality game for this thing? You'd think it would come quite naturally. I don't want to see ungrateful for my gift, but I'm really considering selling it because I have zero to do with it. It has the most pathetic library of games since the Atari Jaguar.
[GTA Man]cycon77foamy[GTA Man]
Rock Band confirmed for WiiEA CEO John Riccitiello confirms that Harmonix' rhythm game will be coming to the Wii. The question is: When? By Tor Thorsen, GameSpot Posted Feb 1, 2008 11:58 am AEST Last February, an Activision conference call revealed the existence of the Wii edition of Guitar Hero. Though unsurprising, the announcement was welcome by owners of the still-scare console looking to embrace their inner Yngwie Malmsteen. Despite a very public disc recall, it was also immensely profitable. The Wii edition of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock sold over 1.2 million units and generated $110 million in the US alone through December 31, 2007. Today, a post-earnings report conference call held by Electronic Arts revealed the existence of a Wii version of Rock Band, developed by Guitar Hero creators Harmonix. Though Rock Band is officially published by MTV Games, EA distributes the game via its EA Partners program, and will apparently do the same with the Wii edition. "One of the things I'm very proud of is the partnership between Electronic Arts and MTV," said EA CEO John Riccitiello told analysts. "In terms of pacing the next few quarters, you're probably well aware of the more than $2.5 million music downloads that have occurred on Rock Band. What's probably the most interesting pieces right now is the coming launch on the Wii, the continued sale of the core platforms in North America and then the fiscal '09 launch across Europe against all of the SKU. So, frankly for the balance of our Q4 and the first half of fiscal '09, Rock Band is a key focus." (Emphasis added.) Riccitiello's comments confirm the existence of the Wii Rock Band and the fact it will be released in the 12 months after April 1, when EA's 2009 financial year begins. Unfortunately, no other information was made available about the game, and inquiries sent to EA and Harmonix representatives were unanswered as of press time. RoAcHcliP
Thats a sh*tload of games! you need to get Mario Galaxy, easily the best game on the console. Medal of Honour is a disappointment.
