Vercetti92
It's an interesting idea but at the same time I think it would be in bad taste to add it to a game such as GTA. Surely there would be lawsuits too because people would not like the idea that you had the freedom to murder people and commit other crimes right on a replica of the WTC memorial site. It would just be a bad idea altogether to add it to the game.
darthYENIK
You know what would be awesome, if there were mooninite light bright adds around the city. They would be in hard-to-reach places and could be a sort of secret package thing where you have to collect 50 of them. Nevar 4get 1-31-07 man thats not f-u-c-k-i-n-g funny i'm from boston. how were they supposed to know they werent bombs? they had wires sticking out of them and were neon. That's funny. Anyway. Who cares. It's not New York. Yeah there is a lot of the same looking landmarks, but it's not the same city. Come on, it's not like a big empty area with construction vehicles belongs in a GTA game....or does it?
abottig
Thats crap, thats like saying the World Trade Center never even existed which in itself is disrespect to the victims of 9/11. We still have several months left, they should put it in IMO. you're basically a moron. have you considered the fact that if they do include ground zero, you will effectively be able to kill people in cold blood right on top of it? also remember; this isn't nyc, it's liberty city. this is not an exact representation of nyc. rather, it is a fictional city that includes similar landmarks and idiosyncrasies. where would rockstar get off paying respect to victims of 9/11 anyway? this is a game that glamorizes violence. rockstar is not responsible for paying tribute to 9/11 victims. they are however responsible for making an entertaining video game that allows gamers to commit heinous acts in a virtual environment. moonracer1313
Yeah, I had wondered if they'd do anything with the ground zero area. But it's just too touchy an area. Interesting to think how game designers can get in trouble for the actions of players. Even if there is no encouragement in the design, just the freedom to make 'bad' choices. parry
While, it's difficult to tell from the released screenshots, the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center are absent (the game is set in the 'now') and Rockstar has stated that 9/11, or a fictional version of it, will feature in the story line of the game at some level. We were told that, wisely, the story would more likely deal with the way that people have sought to capitalise on the tragedy rather than address it directly. Which leads us on to planes, or lack of them. Source
xxmylastregrets
I dont think they are. And I agree with the other people, its rockstars twist on the city. Its not disrespectful and its not rude. They already made the game, their not gonna add more stuff. Unless you want the release date to be pushed further. Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake
But what if they did? How would you people react? Me, I'd be quite shocked, but not necessarily pissed off.
Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus
I'd think, "why did Rockstar leave in this empty plot of land?" Then I'd kill a few hookers.
