vend3r
Hello there, I am brand new to modding gta, just 1 day so far, but I have read everything I could find about modding, i'm attempting to add my own custom ramp with custom textures I started by making the mesh and uv texture map in maya I then exported it to a .x file and imported it into collmaker to make the collision mesh Then I exported the object as a .dfx file and imported it into 3dsmax defined the gta material and used Kams dff IO to export to a .dff file Then I used txd workshop to load the .dff .txd and .col file into an existing mod making sure to turn off the alpha channel rename the file and compress it to a DX1 I saved the .img and opend MEd created a new object imported the .dff and defind the .txd file and saved in the .ide and the .ipl but as you can see from the render its not showing a texture at all, and its the same ingame also there is no collision So somone out there please help I dont understand why this is not working I have tried everythign I can think of and its not working. Also you can contact me on msn at [email protected] or on aim the aim name v3nder Thanks in advance.
xmen
hi, i like you texturing, have you entered the same name when you textured it ? or i think your .dfx file didnt supported your model texture , try to save it in anyother file type(3ds.... etc) and about making col, use kams max script just open collision IO, enter the name of your col above the export button(same name will work) then click on collison mesh button , when its changed in yellow click on your model and collsion mesh buttons text\caption will change into your model name then click on export....save it anywhere hope this will work..!! dertyjerzian
As I don't use maya, I can't give you app-specific help, but I can say that your problems with textures are either A) the UV didnt hold upon export or B) (most likely) textures are not compressed in TXD WS as DX1 And as for col, again I do not use Maya anymore, but if it were max u'd need to reset the x-form. Pretty sure it's called something different in Maya these days. Your col is there, else it would never load the game without crash, it's just off somewhere else in space. Lioshenka
if ^^^ does not help try to rebuild the archive. It helped me few times. I did everything properly but got white houses. Then i rebuilt it and everything went fine.
