grahamdodds9
I need help with the textures in RealGTA3 and the game lags after a while then lags again then stops then so on. Here are my system specs 3.06GHZ processor 502 mb RAM Direct x 9.0c windows xp professinial and here are my settings frame sync on frame limiter on draw distance normal trails off I did delete txd.img and txd.dir after installation, do you think you should delete it every time before you run RealGTA3 What I mean is the roads and walls are blueness then they load after a bit Edited May 20, 2007 by grahamdodds9
stef_92
I don't know waths the problem with the textures! But if they are white, delete txd.img and txd.dir! About that with the lagging - you are not alone It's not cause of the hardware! My hardware is good for the game, but my game lags in some areas too! I wrote about that in this forum but nobody helped me
Heihachi_73
Yep, you need a gig or 2 to run GTA3 at anything decent, otherwise the hard disk will start swapping frantically! With 512MB (502???) you can normally cache most of Portland, but once you change islands it will be molasses for a bit once you get over the bridge, until the game forgets Portland. I'd gather the RealGTA3 mod is no different; it doesn't use the Vice City engine. You won't get much of a speed boost with a decent graphics card, unless of course you're using an onboard chipset like SiS or Intel make; highly doubt it with that system! There's very little difference using my stock 256MB Radeon 9550, from 640x480 to 1600x1200, apart from '2D' graphics getting smaller!
Demarest
But if they are white, delete txd.img and txd.dir! He said he did that. But he didn't say they were white. I wrote about that in this forum but nobody helped meGTA3 is ineffeicient and you have a pirated copy and were not offered support. Tell the truth. @graham: GTA3 is inefficient. RealGTA3 uses higher res/poly objects, so you can expect it to be even more of a drain. If you're experiencing delayed load, that's a sign of hard drive throughput. Standard approaches: defrag, kill other processes, etc.

stef_92
and you have a pirated copy and were not offered support. Tell the truth. I already telled the truth! I saw that my copy is pirate, but I don't think that this is the problem with the lags! It is like the original copy of the game! The only difference is that I haven't spent any money for it! tommyleone
For christ sake, Deramest, stop blaming everyone for using pirated software. He has a legit copy someone gave him. Also, my friend has a warez version of GTA 3 with real Gta on it and it runs perfect. IDK the problem.
travisbatos
you think 512 mb is bad, try 483... i got into the habit of positioning the camera at the ground in all my GTAs because that's how it lags the least.
Raducu30
Same thing happens to me too! After a few minutes of playing the game it gets back to normal! I only have 128 RAM! Sick, eh?
