JohnPro
Hi guys and girls if any. Does anyone know of a tutorial for converting vice city buildings to San Andreas? either by Zmod or another program like Gmax. i know they have that total conversion but i would really like some of the other cool stuff i found to be in San andreas (ex BloodGulch in VC, another one forgot the name). I will only use it for my own personal use but if the guy who made says i can release it then i will Thanks in advance...
l3mmy
Z mod V2.0.8- Import your VC Dff with the Textures Applied, (get those from the .txd) I normally delete the Col meshes from the heierarchy, Click the Export, And Set it to San Andreas Dff, then Convert the .Txd with Txd Workshop. If you need to Convert the .col, Use Col editor 2, (Import ans Save as) It's Very Simple and Straight Forward
JohnPro
Hi Thanks for that im glad its not super difficult but lol when i tried to play the game it crashed. heres what i did... * Got desert hillclimb Dff and TXD, * Extracted TXD files to BMP fomat in the same folder. * Changed the thing on the bottom of TXD workshop to San Andreas * Imported it to Zmod 2.8.0. * I searched for anything about Hierachy thingy about col meshes but cant find it so i skipped this step (this might be the prob)... * I clicked Export and set it to SAN ADREAS at the dff type box. * Did not use col2 this might be another prob lol. *Made a new IMG *Imported the DFF AND TXD *rebuild archive *made a new IPL *Opened GTA.dat and filled in the required info *Opened med OLD VERSION opened the IDE selected NEW ITEM and typed in the name of the dff and txd = It appeared fine. *Opened the IPL selected new item and ADDED THE NEW OBJECT *placed it where i wanted it and clicked save It all appeared fine on med, but during the loading screen it crashed lol i hate that loading screen happens too often. Do you know what i did wrong? here are some things it could be I placed it on santa maria beach and maybe the water stuffed it up LONG shot but lol GUessed when adding the IMG line here is what i put down IMG DATA\MAPS\ADVENTURE_ISLAND\ADVENTURE_ISLAND.IMG Hiearchy thing on ZMod about col meshes I did not convert the col Thanks again for your time. Sacky
You probably hit the +5 SA COL Limit, search around for how to bypass it (pretty complex)
dertyjerzian
Also, try shortening the name of your img file, also a long shot but worth a try.

l3mmy
If this model is from Vice City, you Neeed to Convert the Col. VC Cols simply wont work in SA Unless they are converted. - This may be Your Problem, Also, you didn't put that you Re-saved the .txd when you changed it at the Bottom... If you didn't, do. Keep Trying

Yeah its true, vc col dont have any limit or its limit is bigger than SA, so here is no way SA is using VC col format @JohnPro:hey bud what the luck, i was also converting the same model of vc, i had a problem that the whole model was invisible but it solved when i made new txd if you need it i will give you Edited June 15, 2007 by xmen
dertyjerzian
Yeah its true, vc col dont have any limit or its limit is bigger than SA, so here is no way SA is using VC col format. I'm pretty sure they are VC cols in the country. Also, refer to this post, 2000 face limit on VC col models, no limits on SA col faces, but max size of 255 units. More specifics there from DexX. News to me, too bud
