Snake Without a Tongue
They can say it`s violent and bad for u, but there is something gentile and poetic about GTA. The reson why it will last for ages. Well said. GTA is definitely a male game, but it has an artistic beauty to it.
.:Alex:.
Mines from Vice City: Killing Diaz and taking over his house, earlier in the game while doing missions for him I used to always watch his house from a distance and think what a lucky bastard he was to live in such a luxurious Castle. So it felt real great to shoot that hothead and owning that mansion myself Buying the Malibu Club for the first time was also great, I wanted to buy that Club for a long time but beceause I bought alot of other assets first I didnt had the money to buy it. So when I walked into the buying marker, and tapped L1 and heard that vice city jingle I felt real victorious! Those missions with the Malibu club were also awesome. Exactly the same case scenario for me. Except I accidently loaded another game instead of saving (the one and only time I did this bizzare thing to do) and had to get most (but fortunately not all) of the money again. Boy, did I feel King of the World when I bought it though...
TheJonesy
When they first announced Scarface: The World is Yours, is was happy cause, although I like VC, I though a game actually made after the movie would be great...unfortunetaly VC totally kicked it's...ya know..! Ever since, I always renact scenes for my own amusement. I also stand on the border of Little Havana and Haiti and help Cubans beat Haitians when they encounter each other. I'm not racial, I just liked the Cubans...the whole "freedom town" thing from the Scarface movie put me on their side!
lt_yao
The best moment for me is when you're new in the city and you don't know your way around. But the most magic moment for me was when i played first GTA III mission... The city look like heaven for me then! and it still looks like it. Saigon
One more thing. I like SA the best, but there is realy something about VC that i just can`t explain. U can`t put it in words. I dunno if maybe it`s atmosphere, or something. But from some reason VC felt and still does feel different then other GTA`s. VCS feels like all the other GTA`s, but there is something magical about VC. Does anyone agree with me on this one? I just can`t explain it. I agree with you! VC just had that thing. Me loving VC so much has to do with me loving GTA III. It's like they took what GTA III was missing, brought it to VC and put a 80's feel on it. CLASSIC! It made Tommy seem like a real person, living a real life. He hustled, got his money up and bought some real estate. Plus he could talk unlike Claude. TheJonesy
Why is this topic in Gta4 section... It has nothing to do with it. What about GTA Trivia...huh? (No offense, I love it ) Well, I couldn't put it anywhere else: it is a topic that talks about ALL the games, so putting it in a categorie of a game that isn't out yet would suffice... And if you have no memories or stories to tell, you shouldn't be on the forums anyway!
DonJuan
the best mission ever.... guardian angels on vice city. you and lance would stand over and watch a deal and then it went wrong and you chased on of the bad guys down the alleys and got the money back. Starion
Taking long, relaxing roadtrips around the entire border of San Andreas, in a good car, at sunrise, while listening to great music on my user track player. GANGSTA26-VERCETTI
oh mine was basiclly all of gta vice city, omg the game had that great 80's feel to it, the radio stations especially that spanish statiom or kinda and then the guy says "something viceciiiity" and the the spanish music starts, the music i think is the best out of all gta's, i remember just searching for like my fav songs, especially self control that like one of my tops 10 i think its no. 2, but the songs are so great, the gameplay is good, great houses the mansion rules, v]cars the aka lambos and ferraris, the porsch" was really fast, the gangs the whole mafia style was also great, thats also anothere thing i like about gta3 and its gore code, but vice city top down is my fav for the way it was made and for giving me that great faking music. cant wait for gta4 the realness is gonna be fun to kill . Eljan81
GTA3: My last memory of a free to roam driving game was Mid Town Madness. GTA3 first reminded this and made me hate it at first. Then, I hit one of the insane jumps, and was hooked. GTA ViceCity: (I hate it that I can't remember when I bought VC) Listening to Billy Jean when getting into the car for the first time, I knew I was going no where with the gameplay, cause the music was so great for crusing that no playing was every taken seriously. I love helicopters. So naturally, when Igot to fly the maverick for the first time I was not only hooked, but reeled in by VC. I remember about a month or two when completing VC, when is the next GTA coming out. I was really hoping for more of the same that I had played as VC. GTA SanAn: It was a triump for me when I learned every nook and cranny of SA. SA's best moment for me is the link between Manhunt, with the stealth. Whenever I got the chance, I opted for the knife over any other melay weapon. @The poster with Stunt gone wrong, absolutely hilarious. I think that was the second time I'd seen it though. JondyIsMe
Lets see.. i played GTA, London, GTA 2 and all that and those games were really hard for me haha.. i always crash.. or die. GTA 3 introduced me to my first real 3d sandbox style game and it was absolutely amazing. Everything you could do in that game amazed me. This was the first game i ever really "messed around" in and strayed from the missions. Vice City had an amazing theme and makes you really feel as if your in an 80's miami. Also Tommy was just a complete badass. San Andreas to me had the best story of all of them. I really felt for Carl whenever something would happen to him. He rises above it all and makes it to the top. From the ghetto to glory it was amazing. I can't wait for IV. Hopefully it will do what GTA 3 did for the previous generation of consoles. sabbathfan
I loved to hear Ray Liotta screaming at the top of his lungs: "This is the last dance of Lance Vance!" Probably favourite moment when I got to shot that asshole. lol
eddai
My three strongest gta memories are from sa. The first is from a day or two after crhistmas eve when i started up sa for the first time and i was so exalted when the loading screen came up. My other memorie is when i took a pick up ruck and explored the country side for first time on the first island. Tuned in K-rose and drived around. And the third memory si when i flied for the first time. It was a great feeling to feel the wheel left tha ground and you flew around with your shamal in the air. Gangster07
my best gta memories are from SA i remember the first mission when the police threw CJ down the and left him in the balla territory, but down the alleyway was the bicycle and just using it for the first time was amazing. next was exploring the country side,it was so cool just driving around just exploring it. in gta3 just made cum all over the screen when I first played it!!!! only jokin but it was amazing. the theme of vice city was good as well and everytime I here a song from vice city on tv it just brings back the memories just driving around the city and the sunny skies..... tdog07029
the starting mission to gta3. i had never played too many video games before and i was amazed at the graphics and the city seemed f*ckin huge. i just drove around getting lost and running ppl over and sh*t. another good one is when i first drove the banshee. cuz i didnt kno u cud break the glass in the dealership until i drovve thru it with a car. then i was like f*ckin right, i can break glass in this game and i got a sweet car. fav mission was dead skunk in the trunk. i think that was gta3 too. hopefully gta4 will hav the same effect on me that gta3 did. that game was the sh*t when it came out. skarface1013
GTA 3: That mission chaperone where you had to watch over Maria while she went to the club. The whole flow of it was awesome. Listening to Rise Fm while waiting in the car you see the cops coming in SWAT Vans while they radio each other. They arrive and a gun fight breaks out between the police and the mafia w/other people in the club. They just come running out and start shooting while Maria gets in the limo and you floor it and lose the cops. Also in Triads and Tribulations, the first and maybe the best gangwar in the series thus far. Driving with 2 Leone hitmen in the car packing heat while listening to Double Cleff FM bullets flying everywhere and Leones and Triads just beating and shooting each other all over the streets. Just amazing!!! GTA VC: The whole 80's vibe, killing Ricardo Diaz and taking his mansion, and the biker missions with Big Mitch Baker. His first 2 mission cutscenes were really cool and put together nicely. And of course the last mission, it had a striking resemblance to Scarface, just that Tommy lives and Tony dies. GTA SA: So many good memories it's hard to pick, I enjoyed driving around Los Santos listening to Radio LS, exploring the countryside, and the last mission was EPIC. Can't wait for GTA 4 it is going to be legendary! Edited November 25, 2007 by skarface1013
GTA3Freak-2001
Starting up GTA3 and getting my first chance experiencing what a GTA in full 3D was like. A specific memory related to that was probably heading out behind Salvatoire's mansion and watching the day/night cycle over Shoreside Vale with Rise FM's Neo playing. shadowhunter
My favorite memory is the first time I played GTA III at my friends house. He was a little ways into the game and I asked if I could play. He said sure and the first thing I did was go over to an old lady and punch her. She fell over and I was like "Yeah I killed her!" but she got up and started punching me and I was like "Woah! Shes killin' me! Help!". poopskin
BAD TIMES: 1. GTA III, Bomb da base act I I alwas sucked at defending others. 2. GTA SA, Hot Coffee scandal The main thing that confused me about sa... 3. GTA VC Cousin broke the disc Shortly after making it to the 2nd island, my cousin snapped the VC disc GOOD TIMES 1 GTA SA, it was 1992 and... I loved the overall feel of san andreas, and found myself often driving around to see the sights, and contemplate those bizarre, pointless areas like Shady cabin, and the supermarket-like place near area 69 and the airstrip... 2 GTA SA, GTAF 2004-2005 Back in the days when there was still new things being found in SA, the b*gfoot rumors, etc... 3 GTA III. IT FEELS LIKE THE FIRST TIME... Watching my stepcousin playing III was the thing that catapulted me into the orld of GTA in the first place...
