Speaking of fun...anyone have any special moments. Here's an example of a

Holy schnikes! That's some funny stuff. It's completely random. Sorry, I was off-topic. I loved getting Diaz's Mansion in GTA VC, I definetly wasn't expecting it and I felt like Tony Montana from Scarface.

III When I putted the " kittykittybb" cheat to fly my Infernus and I reached Staunton Island and then Shoreside Valley the same way

Ha ha...I remember I couldn't wait to get to the other islands! I almost peed myself when I got the last Salvatore mission where you were "supposed to" get a car, but Maria told you other wise, and you rode the boat over to Staunton... sigh.gif ..YEAH...

To many to name, but this one came to mind first:

Gunning down Salvatore made my day. The events leading up to that had me hooked on GTA III. I just knew I was about to be made and then, Maria pages me and says it's a trap. I remember riding on that boat with Asuka and Maria thinking, I can't wait to get his(Salvatore) ass. And when I did, PRICELESS!

To be continued!

Exactly my man! In SA, As soon as I found that Big Smoke betrayed CJ, I thought that was a great twist...

I loved GTA1&2, but hadn't gotten around to buying GTAIII yet. I was at my friend's house one day and he had just bought it for his new PS2 and I just went fooling around. I was a crap driver and soon my car caught fire, but I thought it was like GTA2 (where your car catching fire didn't mean it was going to explode, but if you crashed it a few more times it would) and continued driving along. My friend saw this and shouted at me to get out of the car, and I didn't understand why. So I stopped the car, got out and BOOM! Claude got blown to the ground and I suddenly realised that GTA in 3D was better than I had ever imagined. inlove.gif

GTA 3: Probably best moment of my gaming career. Cant believe how the graphics look now cos i reckoned at the time they were the sh*t! Christmas day and all my cousins were round to play it. Walking down the street and i pressed a button by accident and hit someone. I believe the quote was 'FUUUUCKING HELL!!!!!' x5. colgate.gif Then we took it in turns trying to cause as much damage as possible. Everything was new and unbelievable lol. Cars blowing up. Cop Chases. Oh the days.

GTA SA: Been waiting for this for about 4 months constantly looking on gtagaming for more news nearly every day. Mum and dad went on holiday for a month so went on train to nearest shops with my mate at about 7 o clock so i had plently of time to get it, get loads and loads of food and drink, get back home, f*ck college off for 2 weeks straight and load that bad boy up. It was the best feeling ever lol. Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif Did that first BMX mission then thought i'd go for a wander. Ended up on a bike and going miles out of the covered part on my map heading for the sea. Crashed just as i got to it and ended up in water. I forgot you could swim. And i saw an island across from me so i started to swim over and all the FBI ect started coming after me. I ended up travelling the other cities for about 10 minutes i was buzzing 'on the run' lol. Just about to make it to the Casino's and i got sniped in the head.

Ahh. icon14.gifsleepy.gif

great topic...too many to name tho

probably when vice city was in its prime...it was good to be into somethin that was so popular at the time - it was known and well discused in the news and by all types of people - and it was controversial

but my best memories are probably being 12 or 13 and playing it every weekend all winter and every time doing it in groups of friends of 10 or more for countless hours

Hmmm nice bike

GTA III

The first mission where you have to drive 8 Ball to the safehouse. The fact that I was seeing GTA in 3d was great! I remember how I just left poor 8 Ball in the car and just started to explore everywhere! I them saw a cop and was surprised to see that they walk around the streets. Also, I decided to jump in the water before picking up 8 Ball to see if the guy could swim suicidal.gif

Vice City

Almost everything about it! The whole 80s feel was great! The music was real, Maurice Chavez, IMO, was funnier than Lazlow, and a great main charecter (Tommy Vercetti). I also liked the ending where everyone

San Andreas

The ending, when CJ said "See ya later. Officer!" to a dead Tenpenny, and when all of CJ's freinds (The Truth, Kent Paul, Maccer, Ken Rosenburg, and Madd Dog) came over to his house to visit he and his siblings.

Man, they will be forever in me cryani.gif

When I first played Vice City.

Christmas Day 2002 I stayed up till 2:00 AM playing it.

I loved it so much. Still do to this day.

I believe I reached Guardian Angels that night.

As I can see, a lot of people really loved VC, lets hear some more stories of yours...

My two favourite moments are:

1. Loading GTAIII for the first time on my brand new, just out of the box, PS2. WOW! It was a brilliant moment, totally unbelievable!

2. Loading Vice City for the first time and cruising round on that little moped outside the lawyer's office listening to all the music I grew up with.

Hopefully loading GTAIV for the first time will be even better - here's hoping!

Mike.

Snake Without a Tongue

Sitting up trying to get GTA3 to work on my PC. Finally getting it started late at night and playing for the first time.

Hell, every thing about GTA is great. The characters all feel like old friends.

The switch to 3d. I rented (abomination!) GTA 3 and let me just say -- I was blown, and I was blown away. Only certain people will get that statement. sly.gif

But on the "rented" part, I own all GTAs now and couldn't be a bigger fan.

@Snake Without A Tongue. Yes, they do don't they? Ahh the memories...

I loved them all but it's just something about Vice City. The whole Miami feel had me hooked.

I hope we get to go back there in the future. I don't care if it's a overhauled VC or just a nice getaway as a part of another GTA game.

With the downloadable content coming after the release, anything is possible.

Aren't you from NY area too like me? And you still wonder why VC had appeal to you? haven't you heard of the NYmafia/mainstream myth that all people from big cities long for beaches and sunny weather.

My friend, you and nearly every movie mobster were simply fulfilling that myth. LOL

No, but seriously. i loved VC too. The characters, setting, gameplay. It was all great.

yeah, VC was my favorite, too....

I loved popping the game into the PS2 on October 29, 2002, watching the opening credits, "Tommy Vercetti!? sh*t! I never thought they'd let him out!".. then just cruising the streets enjoying the atmosphere was incredible

and so was finding the AT-400 in San Andreas, that was cool

My fav memories were first time i played GTA3, VC, and SA. Just to see urself in a new enviroment, like a stranger in a new place, and u know u can have it all. Then when the story comes to life and u r like WOW i didn`t see that coming, those great cinematics, especialy those that introduce u to main character. Vice city opening cinematic and San Andreas opening cinematic were just great. There is no such experience in gaming anywere else. that`s why GTA rules. I could write down a lot of things couse i love everything related to GTA but it would b to much.

They can say it`s violent and bad for u, but there is something gentile and poetic about GTA. The reson why it will last for ages.

GTAGORILLA

For me it has to be GTA3. I used to love getting the sniper rifle out and shooting peoples knee caps, elbow joints or heads off and seeing the blood spurt and the victim haplessly hopping around screaming. I was highly dissapointed when I discovered that they had removed this in vc and sa. For this reason I still rate GTA3 as the better game of the three.

Many games try to copy gta, but not even one gets close to the real gta feeling.

I remember loading the back of my pickup with my TV, my PS2, and SA. Headed over to a friends house, playing that game all night long.

That was good times..

note: its wasn't easy getting a TV to fit there, yet have it strapped down so it would tilt over. Didn't wanna place in my

I read all those things, and i felt awsome, and at same time i was listening to Sonata Articas Full Moon song, and it is so awesome. I felt like... like... you can't describe it! But it was awesome, to drive with Oceanic in that beach road on VC (the road where is your first safehouse, and sorry, i really can't remember the name of that place) and watching the sunset, and listening to Modern Talkings You're my heart, You're my soul song at same time... so fantastic... And best character, Tommy Vercetti!

My one and only set of GTA mods - a Star Wars theme for the original GTA on my old home built 486 smile.gif

First time i played the London expansion, and being really upset that it looked nothing like London.

Diving from a car for the first time in VC, then forgetting i couldn't do that when i went back to GTA III a few months later.

The day SA killed my PS2 and i rode over it on my bike until it was churned into a rather impressive plastic sculpture on my patio.

oh, and doing Insane Stunts whilst listening to classical music on the radio - those slowmo scenes really become beautiful when performed to a big operatic piece cool.gif

One more thing. I like SA the best, but there is realy something about VC that i just can`t explain. U can`t put it in words. I dunno if maybe it`s atmosphere, or something. But from some reason VC felt and still does feel different then other GTA`s. VCS feels like all the other GTA`s, but there is something magical about VC. Does anyone agree with me on this one? I just can`t explain it.
