PS2 controller on a 360

Recommended Posts

I tried bringing this up over in the IV forum, but got nowhere with it. And I also tried an Xbox site and got burned alive by fanboy f**ks. I then googled it, but still couldn't find the info I wanted, so I decided to post it here. My apologies if this is a repeat topic, but I couldn't find anything in here on it, let alone the specific info I wanted.

Anyway, this post is strictly for Xbox owners, or possibly people who know an Xbox owner:

The XFPS 360

This item seen above has been out a while and allows you to hook up your PS2 controller to the 360 and play games. Thus allowing a "PS-Xbox convert" to enjoy that controller they love so much with their new 360.

And being that I'm inching ever closer to getting a 360 instead of a PS3, I was needing some feedback on how well the translation is with regards to the PS2 controller handling/controlling native 360 games. Are there problems with the triggers, thumbsticks, start/select buttons etc.?

And finally, if you indeed own one of these. Do you think that it would be a better choice (controller-wise) to play IV on a 360 with the adapter and PS2 controller or natively on a PS3? I don't want you opinion on whether the 360 controller is better than PS's. I have played 360 through an entire game (GOW) and I STILL have my preference towards PS just like you have yours towards Xbox and there's no changing that so please don't try.

Also, if your an Xbox fanboy, please leave out all of the "oh, so another PS fan is considering switching up" type sh*t okay!!! Alright!!!

I thank those who have the rare ability to be objective and impartial in advance.

Don't make dupilicate topics here, they are easily moved by mods. The best place to have made this topic is our "Gaming" general chat section. To answer your question, I can only say I have the adapter for the original Xbox and it works well on it so I imagine it does just as well on the Xbox360. In my opinion, yes the PS2 controller is best suited for Grand Theft Auto games because I was never able to play it as well with a Xbox controller which is why I bought the adapter in the first place. Games like Halo or Max Payne on the other hand for the Xbox are best played with the Xbox controller.

This topic has already been posted? Because I didn't see it. Could you point me to it? And again, I truly apologise if it has.

Anyway, thanks for the thorough and unbiased answer Vanzant.

Does anybody own a 360 with one of these by chance?

I don't think theres a topic for it there, what I meant is your topic could be moved to gaming chat here.

Hope that helps.
