Welcome to the Nintendo DS thread. A few friends and I have played (or planned on playing) various DS games via Wifi, so I figured we might as well let the rest of the Nintendo crowd here at GTAF get in on the action. Post your friend codes for all your wifi supported games, post pics of your DS or whatever, and get in contact with other users who play the games you like to play. Every now and then I'll host a tournament for a specific game if a large crowd of us have it.

My Games/Friend Codes:

  • Mario Kart: 012984 - 825155
  • Tetris: 567014 - 084244
  • Super Mario Bros
  • Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
  • Brain Age

So yeah, you can also just talk 'n sh*t here as well.

I also have an M3 Ds Simply, so i can play Doom and Quake on my ds. Playing Doom with the stylus ftw happy.gif

Any chance of getting this pinned??

Probably not, since there's already like 7 pinned topics. If it turns out to be really popular, it won't need a pin anyway.

Colanbarry
I haven't played Pokemon Diamond since the week after launch, I hope to get back to it. I can say however, that the online features are pretty damn amazing in their own right.

Thanks man, from what ive seen/heard online is the shiznit with it especially the voice communication, i think metroid had something similar to it.

Did anybody play Final Fantasy III on it? if so is it anygood?

I have two Nintendo DS's

and they both suck.

Flame on!

Oh yes and the new poke'mon looks good i want to get that blah blah blah

Maybe you should consider getting good games for it smile.gif ?

Anyways, Here's my collection:

and, yes, Diamond is good. It got hard for me in the fifth gym, cause only "special" attacks would harm her Pokemon. I got lucky with Gyarados' Dragon Rage. Now I need to teach someone surf, but his special attack sucks ass, time to catch a Golduck.

GTA3Freak-2001

My PSP is getting unused, I am a prime subject for swapping sides aren't I? Seriously though I wouldn't mind getting a DS, mainly for my self-confessed Pokemon fetish. What's the New Super Mario like? Any other games of merit I should know of?

Does the DS have a homebrew side? Offer anything interesting?

Right on!

What's the New Super Mario like?

It's on the easy side, but otherwise fun and filled with plenty of levels. Sure, there may be one or two levels that are hard, but most are easy.

Any other games of merit I should know of?

Get a pen and pencil paper:

Kirby Canvas Curse

Meteos

Trauma Center-Under The Knife

Phoenix Wright-Ace Attorney

Mario Kart DS

Mario and Luigi-Partners in Time

Hotel Dusk Room 215

Metroid Prime Hunters

Elite Beat Agents

Yoshis Island DS

Final Fantasy III

Kirby Squeak Squad

Castlevania-Portrait of Ruin

Phoenix Wright-Ace Attorney-Justice for All

Lunar Knights

Sonic Rush

Starfox Command

Megaman ZX

Animal Crossing:Wild World

Bomberman Land Touch!

and of course, Pokemon, New Super Mario Bros., etc. Check reviews of the game and such though, some may not be for you.

Not that I know of...there are flashcarts. You know, so that you'll never have to buy another game ever again.

We have numerous system threads that have been around for quite a while that are not pinned. I think this one should follow suit, and just stay away from the mass-ignore section that is Pinned topics. tounge.gif

In other news, I'm contemplating getting a DS. But I'm not sure. With a bunch of good PC games on the horizon, I don't know if I could justify spending that much money just so I could play Pokemon online.

And trust me, if I *do* get a DS, all I'll be playing is Pokemon.

Just bought my DS and Pokemon Diamond. wow.gif

It seems as if the preferred version is Diamond.

I don't understand why though notify.gif

Anybody looking forward to The Legend Of Zelda: Phantom Hour Glass? It looks good but i got bored of Twilight Princess on teh Wii.

Of course I'm getting that game. I hope it lasts the usual 50 hours.

I love my DS, got the R4 homebrew for it and my god its excellent. Been trying to get a Wi-Fi adapter here in aus but haven't had any luck finding one, saw one a while ago in the city but didn't have enough money on me then.

For those interested in homebrew, http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.1459 I highly recommend, you can get an OEM 2GB one as well but the 1GB stores a good 10-15 games and ton of music + the kingston one I know comes with the micro SD usb reader.

Are the new pokemon games anything like the original red and blue on the gameboy? I haven't really enjoyed a pokemon game since those.

see if you can read the following sentence out loud without feeling ...odd:

"Yea, i just bought pokemon pearl"

I know i can't, and not just because of the inevitable pearl-necklace jokes. Diamonds ftw.

Yea, that's the last time i played too. it's a little different, but not anything massive, save for the pseudo 3d graphics. real easy to adjust to.

ed; this looks interesting - an msn messenger client for the ds. and i thought msn on cell phones was strange...

Ed2: it seems the links he's posting may not work. try at your own risk! (and lest us know if you get them to work...)

Another difference between Diamond vs. the ol' Red / Blue combo: You can't just powerhouse your way through with one or two Pokemon. Mixed types of Pokemon, two-on-two fights, and so forth require a fairly diverse team.

Also, the reason I decided to go with Diamond was because Pearl wasn't available. Only Diamond was in stock.
