LT.Diablo
Well, the Yahoo! alternative seems to be sufficient to me...though on the original search feature the option of which sub-forum to search was a time saver. However, either use the Yahoo! alternative or use google, search term: www.gtaforums.com (I think.) Â I have a question though, if I were to use the above method of "search term: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showforum=1" would google only search General Chat (Off-Topic), and accordingly if I changed the "showforum=1" to something else, e.g "showforum=73" PC chat, for example. Just a question I've been meaning to ask.

SWEETSAPRIK
Until further notice. If I had to venture a guess I'd say until the "relaunch", whenever that happens. Â Also, Google seems to give many more results than Yahoo. I can only guess that their spider crawls more pages. Â @LT.Diablo No, that won't work. Â First, the topics themselves don't contain the "showforum=" bit in the url, only the "showtopic=" bit. So you couldn't have it bring back only topics from a specific forum that way. The only page that has that in it's URL is the specific subforum itself. Also, due to the sidebar that url is on every page.

silvermanblue
All I want is find all posts by member back. Hell that was up before the search was brought back up and then disabled again. This place is just confusing sometimes
krashdown
I would like to be able to exclude "locked" topics from the search as most of them are repeats or better ones or were they are full of too much rubbish. ceedj
Â I would like to be able to exclude "locked" topics from the search as most of them are repeats or better ones or were they are full of too much rubbish. Disagree. There are several locked topics about modding something that got a bit carried away but still have useful info in them. Â I do miss the search though. Trying to find modding info on a Yahoo/Google search doesn't let you narrow by sections, so you wind up getting topics that have perhaps a single reference in the thread, and it's usually in the wrong context of what you're searching for. Â Not complaining, just a comment.
