I played the demo and realized that Forza 2 really is just Forza with slightly better graphics. I'm sure they tweaked the AI and handling for the better, but it really seemed to be the same game from the demo. What I am really hoping for is the game to be released so I can really see the cool changes they have done to the game (omg multiplayer!).

Because I thought the demo was limited and bland, I went back and played some Froza on the Xbox. It did nothing more than make me even more excited for the sequel.

btw, EmSixTeen, weren't you the wolder-record holder for something on Project Gotham Racing 2?

Meh, I downloaded the demo, and to me it's the same kettle of fish as PGR3, not really my cup of tea. I prefer racing games where you can super-unrealistically fly around corners and smash the living crap out of people, like Burnout.

Also, the demo description says "photo-realistic graphics", but as far as I can tell it's far from.

I've played it a couple of times.

You should setup a table so we can post our times. I play Forza 1 a lot at the mo, 360 games are gathering dust!

I'll see i I can whoop your times later, working the late shift till 8. Plus I got Civic Type-R which has an addictive technology called VTEC.

Put the 430 in Manual, take all the computers off apart from ABS like this chap, Thats when the 430 becomes fun. It's the second best drifting car on the game.

The M3 takes that title, it's so easy to fly into every corner sideways! smile.gif

This game is going to be good. - Dome Piece

That was the problem with Forza 1. Tire screeching was turned up way too loud and all the cars handled like poo. Tires would lock up even with ABS on and it was like you were always racing in a bar of soap with loud tires. No matter what tweaking you did. Only the R# cars would be immune from this problem. The game was awesome, just that really spoilt it.

Glad to say that's all been fixed in the FM2 demo. My top time in the BMW is about 1:04. But I only tend to play the demo once or twice every day. I reckon I could smash that if I stayed glued to it. Loving the wheel support. Finally put to good use after it's sh*tty implementation in PGR3 and Test Drive.

after playing gran turismo for something like 6 straight months moving to forza feels different.

i don't like it.  not a bit.

it's seems unrealistic in comparison.  i slid around more corners in forza then i ever did in gt.

Yeah, but lol@the PS2 controller fail for racing games.

I made a small table just so people can post their demo laptimes.. So aye, post your demo laptimes. wink.gif

@SIP YEK NOD - I'm all for it. ph34r.gif

@Bauer - Umm, yeah, I had an awful lot of number 1 ghosts/replays/times.. Most are probably still top 10. 3rd best player at Kudos in the game, top 50 speedwise, and in a community vote a long time ago I was voted 9th at combining speed with Kudos. Love that game. I won a tournament 'n' everything, and was in OXM UK as Gamer of the Month. tounge.gif

Meh I want the cars to look more realistic than they do. Kinda cartoonish if you may. Just looking at shots though dont have 360 though which is to bad.

How good do the cars look and handle compared to the first Forza?

I have to agree with this, the track looks quite stunning yet the cars have this cartoony look to them. I believe its the lighting which does it, makes the car look out of place. Still its so smooth and the sense of movement is pretty damm good so thumbs up to Turn 10 for that.

I dunno, I know the cartoony look people mention, but.. it's hardly unrealistic. Compare to say, Gran Turismo, and Forza will win on this front.. I don't like (imho ugly) photo textured backgrounds.

I never had a chance to notice the photo texture backgrounds in Gran Turismo because I was concentrating on driving. It's not the same in Forza.

Each to themselves, I wouldn't be very different if it weren't for the sh*tty controller for racing taking too much of an effort to do it's job smoothly to race fast.

Only thing GT4 seems to have over FM2 is it's courses. I'm so disapointed with FM2's, only ones that seem good are Sebring and Sizuka. Magello short in the demo was horendous, not as bad as Road America mind. But it was such a boring and easy track. Not good enough to show off what FM2 can do. Were as Road America was such a poorly designed track.

Eh, I played the demo a few more times and now I actually quite like it, and imagining the brake line things helps me not suck at PGR3, so I may eventually buy this after it comes out.

@GTA1: You can't download it via PC, only Live, although you don't have to have Gold, you can download the demo with Silver (Free) Membership. icon14.gif

How can you honestly say that about road america....sure in game is was alright.

To truely get the feel of the track you must visit is in person and take a drive around it (granted thats during race weekends) The track is settled into a massive hill, with a good forest land/woods around the fences, just as a general description of course, but

it sounds like you thought road america was a custom track for forza, maybe you did know it was a real track.

as for forza 2, it's really the only game im really waiting for to hit....maybe the new GTA, but thats to far off to think about it. As for the demo, i loved the cars the whole feeling of cars and the graphics i also enjoyed, however i didn't like the track, sure it would've made the download longer, but give us at least Sebring or Road Atlanta

I know it's a real track, been playing it in other games (ToCA, rFactor, etc) as well as watching YouTube videos and looking around t'net for pictures after I first played it (ToCA 3 I think). But I despise that track with a passion. There's no real spark to it for me. Just straights with a few 45'o turns on the end. It's a personal preference. I cringed every time in Forza 1 I'd need to race on it. And I lept for joy when I found out it wasn't in FM2.

The cartoony look comes from the cars not the track, the track looks amazing and way better then GT4 ever did. The cars reflections are way overdone though and that spoils things when up against the perfectly lit and rendered track.
