Ring_of_Fire Posted May 8, 2007 Share Posted May 8, 2007 (edited) I have a Radeon X1950 PRO graphics card and why is that I am able to see through the ground from the main floor's staircase railings, and look at of all my weapons/armor/health containers in the basement? This is after positioning the camera at a certain angle by the way. Did anybody experienced this before? Is it normal? Also, there are some weird textures on the trees and fences. It renders fine except the blue or green colored lines around it. Anyway, I will try max out the AA/AF and texture quality in Catalyst Control Center if it works. Demarest Posted May 8, 2007 Share Posted May 8, 2007 I think we've officially lost touch with what the word glitch means In the first one, you're talking about a side effect of how things are rendered. The second, you're talking about how alpha maps are utilized. I actually dig that feature to be honest with you. In SA, that alpha "glitch" helps me locate the baddies in the mission Burning Desire where they'd otherwise by concealed by the brush in the yard. After staring at the textures in a certain way, I am actually able to look through things (same as "Look through Walls" bazooka glitch) as far as the draw distance goes. It's kinda like some scenery objects in Vice City equips Tommy with ghost eyes with a lens effect like this... So basically the stuff that equips Tommy with ghost eyes and allows you to see through objects or terrains are: In Tommy's Mansion, if you go up the stairs and position the camera at the railings -> you'd be able to look through it, look through as well as under the floor, and see the basement. Trees/fences around Vice City can allow you to see other things if you stare at it in a certain way. However, walls don't have this kind of rendering problem that conflicts with each other. If you park a bike behind a window from Pizza Boy places or the Airport, and you take a look at it through the window where the bike is supposed to be, you will not see it until you stop looking at the window. These glitches usually "cuts" right through the rendering of other items, and so you can see at the bottom or far out (depending on where the camera is directed or positioned at). If you can do that glitch to pick up a tree in your hands Demarest, you'd know what I am talking about! So do you even know about the scenery weapon glitch to pick up and hold a UFO in your hands, or a flag, building, road, sky, moon, clouds... anything for that matter? Notice you can see the health pick-up icon through the actual ground! It reminds me when Superman uses his eye lens to let out a red beam of light.
