All true, all factual, and I do believe xbox got more points than it deserved...

What uninformed fanboy crap..

Negative responses will be reported.

orly f*cknuts? Like when all of us reported your crap in the other thread and you lost a karma star over it?

Anyway, if you want games get a 360. Only good PS3 exclusives on the way are either unproven new franchises, or sequels that are not going to arrive for a while. 360 has a massive game library, superior online service, and is almost half the price of the PS3.

Oh boy I've missed you! wink.gif

If you want a big hard-drive, then go for the XBOX360 Elite. Cleared out you should have over 100 gigs to fill with whatever you like. If you plan on playing any high-definition movies along with a hard drive, you can get either an XBOX360 Premium plus an HD-DVD add-on for 600.00 USD, or the Elite with it for 680.00 USD. On the other hand, you can get a Playstation 3 for either 500.00 USD or 600.00 USD, depending on how big you want your hard drive, and if you want WiFi or not.

Let me also add that you can EASILY replace the PS3 hard drive with any 2.5" laptop hard drive. Instructions are in the manual. It doesn't cost much to upgrade the PS3 HDD.

2.5" laptop hard drives aren't exactly what I'd call cheap.

Unless you seriously want Blu-ray, just get the Xbox360. It's has more good games, which is what really matters, right? Or get the Wii.

Blu-ray is good, PS3 uses it for games and HD movies. 360 forces you to buy an add-on for HD movies. tounge.gif

Wow, so convincing. Microsoft forces you to buy an addon? Only if you want the drive.. The PS3 and Xbox360 are primarily gaming systems, and you don't need the HD DVD drive to play games.

I wouldn't even think about putting down my hard earned money on any new format at this stage.

@dertyjerzian™ take your crap propaganda videos elsewhere.

They are cheap compared to the hard drive for 360 which costs $180 dollars and if you didn't get the point of my second post I don't think I need to explain.

Comes down to what you are looking for. Large library of games, then go with the 360. Smaller library of games with lots of extras and free online, go for PS3. If you are used to the PS consoles, you will be right at home. They have a perfect controller scheme and have no reason to change it. People who say that is a bad thing are kidding themselves. If it aint broke, don't fix it. I found the 360 controller difficult on my hands especially with the shoulder buttons. But that is probably because I am used to the PS controller. Don't listen to what people say here, go with what you will like better.

Funky, you can make a US account for US Store content. Not that you should have to, but just a suggestion if you want to.

_-playero-_

Seriously, buy the console that has the exclusive titles that appeal to you the most. If gaming is all that matters, then that should be all that matters.

Amen!

I thought this topic was going well. It f*cked up on page one.

I for one, would love Blu-ray to win (the term is so retardedly used now). 100GB storage is just what I need for backups right now.

360 doesn't force you to buy anything. It's a gaming machine first, and if you somehow want HD movies, you can optionally buy the HD-DVD add-on.

PS3 does not force you to buy anything either. Asking Sony to remove Blu-ray is like asking Microsoft to remove the DVD drive in the 360.

Also, the choice argument is getting pretty old. We all know why Microsoft decided to go with DVD and chose to have HD-DVD as an add-on. It wasn't to give its consumer base a choice. That's just their marketing gimmick!

Ugh. The only reason its there is so Microsoft could have the historical low price point of $299.99 and when I said gimmick I meant just that....and you just proved it. Microsoft is releasing all sorts of add-ons and different versions of its system and trying to sell them by saying we're giving the consumers a choice! Oh, none of the 360 models come with a wireless card....

And, just out of curiousty, did you buy the core or premium version of the 360?

I swear trying to discuss these matters with you has been like telling a child not to touch a hot stove, in which there are three scenarios: a) the child listens and understands, b) the child doesn't listen, burns his finger and has learned his lesson, c) the child doesn't listen, burns his finger, then turns right around and god damn does it again.

You clearly fit into scenario C.

I'll let you in on a secret; neither company is for the people, it just happens to be that Microsoft has shown a better understanding of economics this round.

Saying that the core 360 is a gimmick is just stupid. Although Microsoft's decision to exclude the hard drive is really f*ckng stupid too, but that's another subject. The point is, it is a core system that doesn't offer anything beyond what is required to run (most) games (some games have and will require the hard drive which makes this SKU a total f*ck up, not a gimmick).

In the PS3's case, half the machine is a damn gimmick. "Blu-Ray" - the majority is saying they don't want it, don't need it. It's all part of Sony's hidden agenda to win a format war for once, so yeah, it's a huge gimmick. "Cell" processor - a chip that was designed to be used in a wide range of electronics and not exclusively designed and tailored for the PS3. This is largely why developers are having a hell of a time with it. This has gimmick written all over it, especially when they go spouting wild claims about how powerful it is and yet fail to admit that it will take a tremendous amount of research to learn how to get anywhere near the theoretical power out of it for game code.

You get more than just a 120GB hard drive, geez.

The Xbox 360 Elite package includes the following:

    * Xbox 360 Console with Matte Black and Chrome finish

    * 120GB Removable Hard Drive with 17 GB of pre-loaded content

    * Black Wireless Controller

    * Black Wired Xbox 360 Headset

    * Component/Composite Multi AV Cable

    * HDMI Cable

    * Optical and Component Audio dongle

    * Ethernet Cable

Oh LOOK AT THAT! A HDMI Cable! Funny about the inclusion of that.

Besides, I'll guarantee you there's a number of people who don't want to do it. People still pay for 'technicians' to remove viruses from computers.

Or you could move back into your rock where everything you say is true rolleyes.gif

Agreed on the no hard drive with the core 360. It's like a step backwards from the Xbox 1.

Well...

Yeah, the only bad thing about the core is that it doesnt have a HDD or a memory card with it when you buy it.

And I personally enjoy choices.

Here its like...

You either buy the Core or Premium 360... Core goes for about 450$ (with memory card) Premium goes for about 600$. And if you would like to spend 300$ more (than the Premium) for the PS3 (because we sure as hell arent getting a 20GB version) then go ahead... its not like youre going to get a wide selection of games for it here (nor online community for that matter since there arent really that many people owning a PS3).

Also, the online itself is pretty useless since half the stuff that people get in USA or Japan or even England isnt for our region. We cant buy anything nor can we download most of the stuff provided in other regions... and to be honest I dont want to waste my time or connection speed on bloody HD trailers.

And WHY would I want an HDTV if I have a 20" monitor with crystal-clear picture. I dont even watch TV that often anymore...

Agreed on the no hard drive with the core 360. It's like a step backwards from the Xbox 1.

So the separate 120GB HDD that Microsoft sells comes with an HDMI cable?

EDIT:

Ah, I see what you are refering to....you got the impression that I was trying to negate the value of the Elite which I wasn't. The guy I was responding to did not mention how you could easily replace the HDD of the PS3 if you wanted more space and YOU ARE NOT limited to what Sony releases.

You can upgrade the PS3 HDD to 120GB by paying less than what you will for the 360.

Link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....d+drive&x=0&y=0

Link:

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Hard-Drives...categorylist.do

In some cases you can HAVE more space for the PS3 by spending less than the cost of the 360 120 HDD. As for the value of Elite compared to the PS3, you get a blu-ray player for $120 dollars more....and considering the HD DVD add-on for the 360 is $199.99 dollars it is a better deal for this guy to go with PS3 because he clearly is interested in watching movies.....

And i want ps3 because i like bluray and the sixaxxis controller.

Now, why would you want to convince someone who is clearly interested in the PS3 to not get one? Unless of course you are the employee of said company like I am according to a few on this board. lol.giftounge.gif

Also, the online itself is pretty useless since half the stuff that people get in USA or Japan or even England isnt for our region. We cant buy anything nor can we download most of the stuff provided in other regions... and to be honest I dont want to waste my time or connection speed on bloody HD trailers.

It's useless compared to the 360's? and at least with the PS3 you can access other regions stores without worrying about your account.

Link: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6170151.html?...ewstop;title;11

There goes the 360's ability to access other regions!
