Shutttlecock?
sorry if this is the wrong section becuase its kinda troubleshooting. i rent games alot and every 1 in 20 (just a rough statistic) games i rent does this wierd thing. it happens randomly to random games. recently i rented god of war II. i put it in flick on my ps2. and not even the splash screen comes up. my tv is just blank. no sound or anything. and then i cant flick my ps2 off it becomes completely unresponsive so i have to unplug it to turn it off. and then i put in 3 or 4 other games just to make sure it isnt my ps2 and they work fine the blank games (as ive grown to refer to them as) usually dont have too many scratches. im just baffled by this. any suggestions? Saget
Hahahah, something similar used to happen with my N64 xD During its last years, the console started to get a little crazy. If I put any cartridge on it, it wouldn't start. It would only start with this one game, San Francisco Rush, which I nicknamed "the boot cartridge" =) Consoles tend to get messed up with use, and tend to work only after some rituals. Uno Carb
I have to play God Of War II with my Ps2 right side up, and not on its side. It won't play if the system is on its side. Strange. Hayden Stasven
Yeah it seems as though your PS2 is dying. I suppose if you wanna fork out something like Au$100, you can send it in to PlayStation to get fixed, or just buy a new slimline one for about AU$200. Did you spot check the data surface of the disk......sometimes that is all that is needed......a light cleaning of the disk surface and spots are often worse than scratches util you clean it up.. ..It has happened to me before and the method to use for cleaning is another matter for the PS2......I called Sony Myself and they told me what to do because my interface card cost me my warrantee...... Turn it off after you open the tray...completely off from the switch in the back. .Vaccume Cleaner hose at the fan port and anCompressed Air spray can(the ones available at local computer store area please) through the front vent area and the disc. tray area. Turn the vaccum on before you start with the hose end at the fan port and turn it off a minute or so after you finish the spraying at the intake areas and disc. tray area. Let set for 5 minutes after. But don't take my word for it.....call them yourself, if ya want. I am just repeating what was said to me and am in no way liable for what happens but it did help my system which obviously had dust on the lazer lens and the spot check to the disk helped too.
