Yeah, I've gone and f*cked up my XP with the Windows X Vista mod.

How should I go on with reinstalling XP, so I don't lose everything.

First of all, if you can boot into Windows, use system restore to restore to a date before you installed the mod. (Click start, all programs, accessories, system tools, system restore).

If you can't boot to windows,

1. Restart your computer, and then press F8 during the initial startup to start your computer in Safe Mode with a command prompt.

2. Log on to your computer with an administrator account or with an account that has administrator credentials.

3. Type the following command at a command prompt, and then press ENTER:

%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

4. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to restore your computer to an earlier state.

If that doesn't work, insert your CD when you boot your computer and whenever "press any button to boot from CD" shows up, press any button.

When it boots up to the main install, do NOT press R, press enter.

Follow the prompts, and agreements until it asks for what type of format, if "no format (leave filesystem in place)" shows up, select that. If it doesn't show up (typical of some prebuilt systems like Dell) you'll have to completely start from scratch.
