When your shot. . . . .

I was reading a different topic and someone mentioned about when you got shot you could just keep running. Very unrealistic. So seeing as rockstar are going for more realism how do you think Niko will react when he gets shot or other ppl in the game? I hope when you shoot someone they respond to where you hit them. Like if you shoot them in the shoulder they spin around and fall to the floor and maybe another cop will help them to their feet. Or if your running and you get shot it really affects how your running like you stumble or fall depending where you get shot. What do you think?

Yeah other people reacting realistically is fine, but if i get shot and can barely move i will probably get busted/wasted, so its kind of pointless ya know? A shot that would make me only be able to crawl should just kill be so i dont have to crawl around until they kill me lol. gameplay>realism

I dont mean to have to crawl if you get shot. But i wanna react to it and not just act like a bird bumped into me. It'd be cool if you were running away from a few ppl and you get shot so you spin round then you get up and shoot one of the guys who are chasing you and he falls down and the other ppl chasing you have to either pick him up or jump over him. Oh and i dont want ppl's head's to always vanish when i shoot them with the sniper rifle. I think that should only happen when you shoot with the shot gun

well once i saw my guy shoot sumbody, and they shot him in the back, he ran away and they hit him like two more times, but he didnt fall over, or even stumble, he kept running leaving a trail of blood. i dont think its realistic to flip over or sumthin if u get shot, but to like stumble a little would be alright.

I agree with Tristan. Scarface's system of getting shot and hurt could add realism for GTA. I think this could work for GTA IV imo. I mean this is where your guns and cars come into importance. If you get hurt and can hardly move, your car is what's going to get your ass saved. Again, IMO, this is what could add even more excitement into GTA IV

It would only be a success if they did it in a way where it only gave you a small disadvantage. Remember in The Getaway? You get shot once and you're pretty much a dead man walking. We don't want something like that. A better solution would be if you were get shot at, you got your clothes bloody and you may take longer to jump fences and jack cars. That would be alot better than a life-like health system. icon14.gif

Another thing could be implemented is getting hit in certain bodyparts having an affect on the damage. So if you got shot in the head/chest you would lose more damage then if you get shot in the arm.

 

Also wearing armour should only protect the area that it covers, so that would be the torso. So if they shoot your chest you will lose armour points only, but if you get shot in the arms/legs/head you will lose damage points but not armour points.

 

Blood would also be cool, it won't really affect gameplay but visually it should

make it more realistic.

 

If they really wanna make it precise they could make the body go limp where it hurts, so if you get shot in the leg you can't run full speed, if you get shot in the arm your arm movement slows down e.g. you can't shoot as fast, shot accuracy is reduced.

I like hte idea of certain bodyparts being hit. Like if Niko was shot in the arm (oh, several times, for gameplay's sake), he wouldn't be able to dual-wield and his aim will be much poorer when shooting assault rifles and such. And limping if he was shot several times in the leg.

Though I think R* will go for somehting less realistic but smoother, relying on those context animations.

I don't think Rockstar will sacrifice gameplay for ultra realism.

 

Would like to see something different though. I'm getting tired of games with physics doing it the same way every time. Instant death, sack of potatoes kind of thing. I want some grabbing of stomachs, crawling, that kind of thing biggrin.gif

I don't think there's any actually factual evidence pointing to them using Euphoria, they were given the rights to use it I believe earlier this year, so unless they completely overhauled the entire game physics engine, I don't think they licensed it for GTA 4, even though everybody seems to think that's the case.

what if they made it realistic so when someone got shot they would automaticly fall back to take cover in the nearest spot. like in real life. like have you ever seen cop shootouts on TV? when cops are shot they usualy just hide for like a min or 2. And the bullets should be realistic so that you slowly lose health over a long time. and maby different levels of pain for different areas of the body

 

the only bad thing is that you could blow off the arms and legs of Nico and once he was wasted they would regenerate

you shouldent lose any body armor at all because nomatter how manytimes you shoot body armor you wont kill somebody unless its with armor percing bullets. i like the idea i think ive said it before

just reading through the posts and i thought this was a really good idea.....

 

do you think its about time they just got rid of the 100 health all together then?

I do want this area to be a bit more realistic. If you're shot in the arm, it becomes a bit more difficult to aim. In the leg, you have a slight limp and won't run AS fast as you normally would. In the torso, you lose a great deal more health than if you're shot in the leg or arm. I think that that would be more realistic without becoming too realistic to the point of the game not becoming fun. And anyone who says that this would take away the fun of GTA and make it too difficult, boohoo and learn to make do with realism and increased difficult. This game isn't for children remember cool.gif

That set aside if you got hit in the nads, how would that effect gameplay.  Would you no longer be able to "use" whores?

hmmm I nvr actully thought of that i'm actully curious to see how than effect gameplay lol
