Why they changed

Im still wondering why the North Point Mall was renamed to Vice Point Mall even though the map that comes with the game still reads NPM

I haven`t beat the game yet, is there any explanation in game?

Technically its called the Vice Point Mall in VCS, the only reason I can think of reasoning behind the rename is that Vice Point is the most northern point on the map, North Point Mall suits it in VC.

They were planning the name change in 1984, that is why the map has the different name.
