GTA Radio Stations

Recommended Posts

I’m personally a big fan of GTA radio stations. Unfortunately I’m not able to listen to all of them. What I want is if someone can upload and send me, or direct me where can I download all the radio station in MP3 format for GTA III, GTA VC, GTA SA, GTA LCS and GTA VCS. I know I ask for a lot but I’m sure there are a lot of people here on GTAF that can help me. If someone can extract those audio files and send them to me I would be very grateful!

Sorry dude, but that falls under the warez rule here since all the radio files are on the original disc if you have it. It's especially important as most pirated copies of the game have the radio stations removed to improve P2P transfer times... I'll assume you're in the good here and the problem isn't because you've downloaded the game.

Also, the music is copyrighted to the artist that produced it. If you don't have the game at all, you can purchase the official soundtracks to hear the music, or even go so far as to purchase albums from the individual artists that appear in the game - but downloading is a big no-no.

How is it a warez? I don’t want just music, but the DJ’s comments. I own PC so there is no way on earth I can get radio stations from LCS and VCS. I also have no idea how to extract radio station s from VC and SA. I want to be able to listen to radio station without playing the game.

If you own:

GTA3: Go to your play cd( second) and you have the .wav files in the Audio folder.

VC: You can use Vicesimus Alter to extract the stations.

SA: You can use the SA Music extractor tool and extract just the songs or the songs with the Dj's comments on it.

I can give you all of Vice City's radio stations in ADF format + a converter to convert them to MP3. The reason I haven't converted them for you is because they're much bigger in MP3 format.

I dunno about GTA3, but in the GTA SA directory I can't seem to find any ADF files or other audio that looks like radio stations. I'll have to re-install GTA3 to be sure that one has radio stations.

The VCS and LCS radiostations are impossible to get for PC, so give up on them. It's impossible to reach those files.

And, before I post them, I need a confirmation it's okay, 'cause I don't feel like getting a warning or ban.

It's warez because you're legally required to own the game if you want to be entitled to listen to its audio.

Furthermore, almost every widely-distributed warez copy of the game comes without the radio stations. Thus, almost everyone requesting the stations is trying to get the full complement of files for the game as they downloaded it only partially. The easiest thing for forums such as these ones to do is to have a blanket 'no warez' rule which covers distribution of any game files.

The bottom line is if you have the disc, you have the audio.

First off, I don't think what the topic starter posted has anything to do with warez, as he mentioned LCS and VCS which are PS2 games, as you cannot download a ps2 game due to the fact that a ps2 REQUIRES a disc to be in it in order for it to work. I think he just wants a way to extract the stations in order to listen to them outside the game.-Just wanted to note this as it has been brought up about warez.

ON-Topic- There is a extracter program for ALL ps2 games except San Andreas, which Here.

The San Andreas one Is Here.

These require the PS2 disc. Hope this helps.

Edit-This(the converters) are not created by me.

It isn't really a warez problem, more of a problem with deciding whether it is alright to alter the form of the game (by listening to the music while not playing the game). Usually in software licenses you agree not to disassemble the product or use it in some way that was not intended by the people who made it, it isn't hard to imagine that this would cover extracting the music from the data files so that is why before the rot set into these subforums so severely, discussion like this didn't last long. These days on the other hand... well.

I have no issues with extracting the audio and listening to it out-of-game. In fact, my personal view is that if you buy the game you're entitled to personally use its contents in any way you wish.

My qualms lie in the notion of someone else uploading and making available original game files for transfer over the Internet.

Suction Testicle Man

You may discuss extracting the music files from your own copies, but anybody caught distributing any game files to others will have action taken against them and the topic will be locked.

I don't know what are mods position about downloading music, but you could also get a list of the songs played in each radio and just download them. Sorry if that's forbidden here, if so, I'll just kindly edit my post =)

But... I see nothing wrong with what he's asking. I may be wrong, but this looks like the same thing with videos. If you can record and upload a video of you playing the game, why can't you record and upload the game soundtrack? I don't know about extracting, but recording has the same end, it will result in a file with the audio.

As I said, I may be wrong, but that's just my opinion...

The way I see it, is if you buy the game, you should be able to use it however you want, as long as it iss for your own benefit. I also think it is a good idea and money saver to extract them from the game rather than having to buy a 6-plus disc soundtrack for around $50 when you only like 2 to 3 radiostations and besides the official soundtrack does not have all the content that the actual in-game radiostation has on it-at least this is true for vice city, not sure about the San Andreas one though. For instance the flash fm and v-rock soundtrack has 2-3 songs and some commercials that are not on it but are in game.

And as far as I know GTA 3 did not use a "licensed" soundtrack as a lot of the songs are not actual songs-they were made up by rockstar especially for the game. I believe Vice City was the one that started using the "licensed" soundtracks. Hope this helps clear things up about the topic.

It might have helped, but it didn't since you were apparently unable to notice the (subtle, I'm sure) difference between a "software license", which is between you and the game company, and what I was talking about, and the "licensed soundtrack" which is not between you and anyone -- if it was you may have more of a case for using the music separately from the game (still possibly not depending on the details), but presumably that "licensed soundtrack" is some agreements between the game company and whoever they get the music from and doesn't affect you.

The thing is, none of us bought the game. We bought a license to install and play the game. You may find that the Fair Use laws allow a user to extract the audio files, or you may find that no such right exists. That might be something for an intellectual property attorney to sort out.

In any case, the license to play the game does not include the right to post the soundtracks on this or any other website.

Of course, most of us have reproduced and shared music in ways that are not technically legal, so I'm not going to be judgemental about it. I'm just pointing out that there is a legal issue here and you can take that knowledge and do with it what you will.

.

I'm not talking about posting the soundtracks on a website, I'm just saying you should be able to use it for your personal use only-in fact i am against the sharing of "copy-righted" or in this case "protected" files on-line. That is why I only post the links to extracters and not the actual soundtracks.

@ gillies, you are right, i'm not sure what the difference is between a "software license" and a "licensed soundtrack", I thought they were both basically the same thing.
