The next Tony Hawk game

Well, I am a big fan of THPS and have all the games. But I don't have a next gen console. sad.gif So when I bought Tony Hawk's Prject 8 for my PS2 it was very BAD! All the good things like:

Motion Captured Tricks

Wall-Running

"Momentum and Gravity"

No Loading Screens.

Ragdoll Bails

Bail Goals

Window-In-Window Gameplay.

Body Spins in Nail The Trick

Increased Blood and Gore

Character Voices While Bailing

High-detail Lighting effects

High detail graphics

Over 200 Goals (PSP, Xbox, and PS2 have only 90)

Pro Tricks Mode

Natas Spin Trick Variations.

Create a park mode

Graffiti

So I was very dissaponited and plus, the story and cutscenes were HORRIBLE! Graphics were good and gameplay was awesome, but not a recommenable game. I hope Neversift releases something better THIS YEAR! cryani.gif

Wtf, you don't like it but you list good things about it? ok.

The game is fine even on PS2, I personally think it is one of the best Tony Hawks game to date. The motion capture tricks were just icing on the cake to make the game even better.

Oh NO! I meant the PS2 version DIDN'T have all those cool things.

Well, good thing i got a PS3 and Thp8 for it soon

also,

out of the ps2/psp versions of Thp8, the PSP version is far superior with 7 extra levels

Good luck dealing with the horrible framerate issues. wink.gif

Anyway, the game isn't that good. I mean, it's nice to see a more nextgen version of Tony Hawk games, but you're not really missing anything if you don't play it.

EDIT: There's no "levels" in THP8... what are you talking about?

Project 9 would be an ass stupid name.

EDIT: Uno, did you mean framerate issues with PS3, or PS2..

I had 1 framerate drop in the 40 hours of playtime.

Yeah, P9 would sound lame. I say Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 9.

I'm more looking forward to SKATE though.

Neversoft need to sit down with the next game for a good 2 to 3 years. Because I'm fed up with the rushed tat they've been pumping out every year. Last years game was in no way shape or form a revolutionary step for the game. Utter crap.

Like other people have said, holding out that SKATE will be good.

Uhhh...

nope i don't see any

oh and there is the 333mhz setting

and the game looks as smooth as a babys bottom with that on

also the psp/ps2/xbox versions have "Levels" because Shaba games are to lazy to work out a loading system

(PSP)

And ps3

I played it before and i don't see any issues

i don't think you've even played it

i've got P8 on 360 andi love it! It's everything that was missing from THUG and THUG2 and THAW. Wtf were they thinking with THUG1 and 2? I don;t want to play as the jackass team ona f*cking bull, i want to play as a pro skater on a skateboard!

Was nice to see them go hack to what makes the series so amazing with THP8. i hadn;t played a TH ga,me in 2 years before P8, now i'm back into the series.

The 360 version (which I played) had some frame rate issues. It was real annoying too. You don't realize it too much though until you play, I think it was multiplayer where it only has one section, and the fps jump up and you see how smooth it could've been.

I saw on Xplay that on PS3 that they have even worse frame problems, but I haven't played myself so I can't really say.

I kinda feel like playing it again though, despite the flaws it had.

SKATE ftw tho

Wow, with the amount of features missing from the PS2 version why did they even bother making one? I knew it didn't have as many features as the Next-gen versions but not that much missing...

Project 8 is great but still, it felt rushed. Like RMT said, they should really spend more time on the next game instead of just putting out a new one every year that only has one thing changed and a couple of new tricks.

Money. Sad but true.

I rented it before I got my PS3 and was like "What the f*ck?" They gutted the whole game. I learned since then, that they put the features on the "next gen" titles, but come on. That is just low, to do that. It was worse than previous titles, and I don't know why they had to take out things they had before.

Well THPS3 was crap on Playstation while pretty good on PS2 so yeah its happened before with the next-gen consoles getting better versions.

Meh, the P8 skating was alright. But the story sucked tbh, just getting into the top 8 and then the story just ends when you get into it, nothing actually happens really. You get a sh*t downhill level (the point in this level is?!)

Oh, sorry if i spoilt, it sucks anyway.

The point of it is,

that downhill level was exclusive to Thps3 PS1

so they are like hey lets give them this level from PS1!

But as i said before The PSP version of Thp8 is far superior to PS2 because,

7 extra levels as i said before

7... thats alot

UPDATE!!!

The New Tony Hawk game coming out will be titled Tony Hawk's Proving Ground.

Gamepro has an exclusive in the June issue, that's out next week. Nothing is known yet, but supposedly there is going to be upgrades to a lot of the Project 8 engine.

For the love of god, PLEASE have Park editors and the create-a-modes back. THP8 is f*cking boring.

...besides that I ain't sayin nuthin.

Yeah, once you beat it, all you have is skating around the city.

And with consoles and having hard drives now, the only limit on how much sh*t you put into the create-a-park, is how much memory you have left on your drive.

well Tony Hawks 900 degrees would suit the series a lot more than the actual title...

'Tony Hawk's Proving Ground'

Not liking it. The Proving makes it sound like one big tutorial.

I hope in this latest Tony Hawks game you can go from rags to riches. You know, start off as a amateur and go to being world number 1. Something which I think the series is lacking. I also hope there's some badly crafted challenges (like break dancing with a guy in a bear suit). Oh and bump mapping, nothing says next gen than a sh*t storm of bump mapping.
