BCspeed34
I was thinking, and I don't know if it is immediately possible, but like with large file sizes for signatures and such, could the system not display a signature if it is oversized? Like if you have a sig thats, oh lets say, 530x150. Could it not be saved? This way we can stop any and all oversized signatures, and it will help the user know in the first place if his/her image is over the limit. Many people, it seems, cant tell their green from their red, and vice-versa. There is a disease called red-green color blindness, and that may be a relation. This can help those people. Regardless, this can stop the need for disabling signatures for being oversized. Now, I know it is fun to go into the GTAIV topics and find about 5 or 6 guys a day and report their signatures, but hey, we can still report theim for their signature content! So, yes? No? Good idea? Whatever, it just popped into my mind as a good idea. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/276961-oversized-signatures/ Share on other sites
Mister Zero
I think it's an okay idea. I always get some screen up telling me I can't save my signature, but I hit Back and everything's normal, so I don't know if there's something operating doing the job you've just said. It'd make things a lot easier if someone overstepped the red line and you get a Board Message telling you, which then forces you to go back to your Edit Signature option and then use a smaller image. Crokey
There is a 'hack' available that can replace signatures that don't meet a specific set of regualtions (Pixel Size, File Size etc), with a text line like the one here 'Signature Disabled due to size limits' or whatever you want it to be. This is available on Invision Free boards and I don't know if it could be integrated here with a standard Invision Board, but then again it depends on if it would be implemented here with the new forum software around the corner... whenever that is. I had the code for it somewhere as I've tested it myself on a free board and it works fine, if anybody wanted it I could trawl around again to find it. Blind Joe Death
It seems like a pretty snazzy idea, that is if it can be done. Although just like you said, it is rather fun reporting all the noobs with massive signatures but hey, we can still report their posts. The-King
I say add a script of some sort that automatically disables a signature if it is over the size limits, and then re-enables it automatically when fixed. Every-time someone changes a signature it would detect any red in the border and automatically disable it. Besides taking away many head-sores it would also make the moderator's job easier so that they could concentrate more on less menial tasks (like receiving blowjobs). Toni.Cipriani
I say add a script of some sort that automatically disables a signature if it is over the size limits, and then re-enables it automatically when fixed. Every-time someone changes a signature it would detect any red in the border and automatically disable it. Or just a script that would resize the sig if it was over the limits.
