fastest boat
If we get to visit vice city again on any platform what period do you think it will be. Vice City out of the 80's would be like a car without wheels Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/276456-if-we-visit-vice-city-again/ Share on other sites
AZSupraT
I think that San An wouldn't beat SA in the slightest. Vice would always be the best game in the trilogy, regarding everything. Playability, design, storyline, and location. It just fits perfectly into those characteristics of what Vice truly is. But you can't deny that the physics of San An are just very calculated and correct. I love making my CJ a bombed out pimp, with high quality clothes, on a modified Lamborghini. I think you know what I mean. Vice would be perfect in the future, but unlikely. For example, Miami has nothing to do anymore, it's just focused on South Beach (aka Ocean Beach), and everything pretty much revolves around it and it's limelight. The 80's were a perfect era, since it was the cocaine era, early to the mid 80's. Miami pretty much has straight businesses today. saintdave
I think Vice City has been done as much as Rockstar wished to now. Using it as the setting for the second 3D GTA was brilliance and we all still love and talk about the game with fond memories, many still play it for various reasons. Then VCS gave us another taste of the city at an earlier development of its period, with the same feel but noticeable differences in many areas not only in terms of gameplay but storyline, missions, characters and the way you went about completing it. That said no one expected GTA 4 to be set in Liberty City (even if it is spruced up) so there is always the small possibility of a future game being set in Vice City. But as said above it was set for the 80's, it's part of its charm, setting it in modern day or a different era may almost alienate people from what they liked so much about the city. TheJonesy
I think it would be too difficult to make a VC again. Of course, there would be the supposedly "GTA fans" who have to complain. Yes, I do think it was the best. It had the vibe and storyline, along with the many things to do, without losing the "GTA feeling" like SA. But making a 3rd VC would be difficult, plus the fact that the best time to put it in is the 80's. I like VC, but I do want some more things than remakes. Doing VC in another time just would be that great. Who would you work for, some illegal Cuban immigrant or a retiree, see what I'm sayin? Mr Benz
Firstly, Im so impressed by all the comments on this thread. My standpoint is that VC is my Favoorite city, and I know that RSTAR will redesign and let us old fans (With lots of cash) revisit it. Hrimfaxi
Maybe Vice City might be episodic content for GTA IV? I dunno. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/276456-if-we-visit-vice-city-again/#findComment-4212109 Share on other sites
ChrisLaRock
I personally would like to see a GTA that has Liberty City, Vice City, and San Andreas all in one. It could take place in the 90's and involve going all over doing odd jobs for various people - old characters and new. Gantons Most Wanted
that would be a good GTA if they did that went from East to the South to the WestCoast but if they re do San Andreas i think they should add a city like Oakland and San Diego and more of the cities round there or if they revisit VC in the GTA IV series they should add a swamp this time Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/276456-if-we-visit-vice-city-again/#findComment-4217256 Share on other sites
Rashon.
Vice City would never have the feel it's supposed to be if the game is set after the 80s. It would look like more of a sh*thole than the grittiness of Liberty City. Blackadder. But as said above it was set for the 80's, it's part of its charm, setting it in modern day or a different era may almost alienate people from what they liked so much about the city. It will most likely be completely different to VC (Just like IV was to III) and based on Miami. Meaning it won't take away from what they liked about the city...cause it isn't the same city! No but really, I'm curious as to what VC could do with Miami+Nextgen. Newbie41
VC and VCS are the best in the series in my opinion Gta III and LCS had good to offer, but it wasnt enough for me... I love Vice City and the sprawling blue sparkling water, the beautiful sunsets, the radio stations, and all of the bright colors packed into the game (VCS) Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/276456-if-we-visit-vice-city-again/#findComment-4219434 Share on other sites
tuareg
I dont think vice city will be used in any time period now (although i wouldnt get enough of it). Seeing vc in modern time setting or in the 90's would look interesting. murrder69
i dont think it would really work out of the 80's, due to the fact that what made Vice city so great was the very similar to scarface storyline, and yes while miami is still linked with drug smuggleing now, its no were near as bad as the 80's boom. its like san andreas, the riots, the racism, again all following boyz n the hood very closely. it wouldnt be as exciting for san andreas to be in current time. ok yeah it would friggin rock but again you would miss the depth of the story... which i think all link together fantasticly.
