I'm not entering the piece making contest, but I was bored today and made this.

 

 

That is a 3 liter bottle, not a puny 2 liter. haha. And yes, that is a full face, CPR mask on the mouthpiece

 

 

 

Here is the bowl. Just a ratchet piece with a custom screen at the bottom.

 

The piece has a double carb. You have the one at the mouthpiece end coming out of the mask, and one at the other end (the bowl). The one coming out of the mask is the secondary. Basically, you simply lift out the bowl to act as the carb to clear the chamber, in case you can't clear it all (pussy) you just release the carb by the mouthpiece and it will stop pulling through, allowing the remaining smoke to stay in the chamber until your pussy lungs can take the rest of the smoke in.

 

 

I'm debating modifying it into a water based piece. Of course I would have to extend the stem, so not quite sure.

 

Only thing left that I have to do is create a handle for the bowl so I can lift it out efficiently without burning my already roughened, manly fingers. haha

Nope. Not sure how you are thinking that, care to explain? The secondary carb completely bypasses the flow beyond the base nozzle of the face mask. So I could inhale or exhale while still keeping my nose and mouth in the cpr mask and it will only go in or out through the little tube carb I have built. I can't take full credit for it though, since it was built into the cpr mask and I only added the tubing to make handling the hole easier. You simply grip around the nozzle area to hold the piece and place your thumb or finger over the hole on the tube. Even though it is such a large piece, it can pretty much be held with one hand which keeps your other hand free to spark up the bowl.

 

If I plug up secondary carb hole, and then stuffed my thumb into the area where the bowl is, it would collapse the bong in on itself. But only then when there is no external air (or smoke when the bud is lit) flowing into the chamber.

 

I'd take more photos for you, but unfortunately my camera literally died while putting these two photos on my computer. Which sucks because I was carrying a diary on a current build I have going on. And now I can't take anymore photos until after I get new batteries.

@ Duece: That's a pretty chill bong you got there. What is the cone-piece? Looks almost like a hollowed out marshmellow... I presume there's a shotty (carb) on the otherside of the vase-looking body.

 

I'm not too creative when it comes to this stuff, but I remember really being really keen to make a bong in my Yr8 pottery class. After the clay had been painted & gone in the kilm, the respective object was really smooth and would've been perfect for a bong. I wasn't the best potterer (sp?) so it didn't really come out together.

So since nobody followed through on the Build-a-Bong Contest, I'll just post up what I got..

 

Frankenstein.. Made entirely out of broken bongs (one from each roomate). It stands at about 40"..

 

Glass bowl top mounted on a metal bowl bottom, into an acrylic ashcatcher, tubes all the way to the bottom of the green base (tubes work as ice catchers). Then an air bubble, more ice, then through the 2nd chamber and into the perc. Then straight out the top.

 

A homemade double-chamber percolating bong with ashcatcher..

EDIT- Lighter minus flint plus candle equals somewhat complicated (yet effective) way to smoke this here bowl.

Its also good for being quiet, since theres no constant "Bic-flicking"

Lately I've been buying weed off of the head chef of the most expensive restaurant in town, and i have to say, it's easily the best weed i've gotten locally in a long time. The best part about it is all i have to do is call the guy and tell him im coming, and then walk right back into the kitchen and buy the bag. I love how open the subject of drug use is among most culinary professionals....or at least in my experiance. I've worked in 3 restaurant's over the past 5 or 6 years, and in each one the kitchen staff just openly talked about getting high as f*ck as soon as possible, and it was totally fine haha.

Alright. haha. Yeah. The secondary carb completely bypasses the chamber itself, letting the smoke sit inside of there undisturbed. Pretty nifty. As it is, the CPR mask has a built in one-way air flow in it. So I can suck air in through it, but if I blow back out with the cpr mask on my face, it will only go through the secondary carb.

This is extremely true. When I worked in a restaurant at least 3/4 of the staff smoked. My boss even covered for people when they got hurt on the job and had to file for workers comp. There were about 3 or 4 reliable sources for buying when I worked there.

Haha. I once went to a guys house to smoke with him for the first time and soon found that he and his friends were complete noobs at smoking. My first mistake was to assume he would have a working lighter, as the only one I had on me at the time, coming straight off of work, was a type of novelty one that was pretty much out of fluid from over use. When I pulled out my piece (a simple bubbler) and the guys were like "sh*t what is that thing?" I knew I was in trouble. They only had a long stemmed candle lighter that we tried using until it too ran out of butane. The only other thing they had was a zippo which of course leaves a nasty taste in your mouth if you try to use it to smoke from a piece. So I had them get a few large foot-long match sticks (the type you use to light a flame in a water heater) and proceeded to light it and take turns smoking out of the piece with that thing as it burned down the wood until the end. Worked fine for me, except the damn noob smokers would accidentally put it out occasionally from pull through the piece too hard.

I've got a bad little OCD habit. I prefer to only purchase blue BIC lighters. Not light blue, the dark blue kind. Nothing else for smoking bud. I usually will buy two lighters at a time, and will only get a prepackaged two-pack if both the lighters are blue. If I have to get a two pack that is not the same blue color, then I will use the other colored one only for smoking cigs or something.

 

I prefer two at a time because I have had so much experience in the past from losing my lighters or having someone stoner jack them. Having two allows me to either use one through fully without fear of not having another one midway through a session in case it runs out, and it allows me to not really fear having my lighter jacked without my knowledge and going around to smoking the next day only to find I don't have a lighter available.
