Chrisbugs5
I bought the Brady guide even though I heard how inaccurate it is. I did all the jumps that are listed in the guide and am now moving on to the ones not listed since I'm playing on the PS2. I'm having trouble with the jump on the East Island where you have to jump from the mainland onto the golf course. I've tried to do the jump in cars and motorcycles. I've tried going as fast as possible and slow enough to barely make it over the water. I get the Unique Stunt slow motion camera to start and then halfway through the air it just stops and says Unique Jump Failed...Even though I land it perfectly... After trying this the first time I had to ditch my bike and swim back to the mainland and much to my surprise Vice City had become deserted... There are no cars driving around except the occasional taxi or police car, but even though have become rare. Did I miss the evacuation notice? I don't really know what thats all about but...I do need help as to why I can't seem to hit this jump right. How did you all do it? As for the deserted VC, I think I'm going to turn my PS2 off and see if that will fix it. Chrisbugs5
Ok...so I turned the game off and did some things for a little bit and came back and nailed it on the second try. Figures doesn't it? Also, Vice City isn't evacuated anymore! Yay! What I did differently was hit the jump at an angle sending me through the air sideways. I expected it not to work but to my surprise I got the Unique Stunt Bonus after I landed. I guess hitting the jump head on doesn't always work... Well anyway you guys can just ignore this now. Sorry to waste forum space. :-( I will still say that the Brady guide to this game sucks! HerrieM
About the jump, i approach it from the road that from under the bridge and curves a bit. You have to try to hit the ramp with as much speed as possible and hit is sas straight on as possible, maybe going a bit to the left, but just slightly. About the desertion, I had it to. If you go around Vice City for a while without doing missions or saveing for some reason the amount of traffic is limited. I had it when collecting all red balloons. if you strat up your PS2 again, it should all be normal again. Edit: I see you already managed it. Chrisbugs5
Yeah, I hit the jump going as fast as possible and veered to the left at the last second. Going head-on doesn't seem to work, or it didn't for me. I just completed the 99 luftballoons as well, maybe that's what caused the "evacuation" lol. Thanks the the help anyway :-) Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/276207-unique-jump-help/#findComment-4206000 Share on other sites

Sorry to waste forum space. :-( I will still say that the Brady guide to this game sucks! I was redoing this one recently, and I think the issue is angle. If you hit the ramp at certain angles, you don't land in the credit zone (I'm assuming there is such an animal). There is no doubt that the Brady guide (PS2) this time is the worst I've ever seen. It's missing a ton of stuff, the rampages are accurate about 10% of the time as to weapon and even less as to number of kills, and so on and so forth. While it's possible they didn't get accurate information, I have a hard time believing they didn't get a prerelease version to play. Either way, they put out the baloney, so they take the full rap. Far as I know, no one held a gun to their heads to force them to sign up to put out a book on release day--they chose that. The evacuated VC bug clears when you restart the game. It's a good deal when you're doing street racing. It's a pretty bad one when you are doing a vehicle-killing rampage. BixDugan
I've never had that "evac glitch" ('cept near the VicePort savehouse late at night, but I think thats what R* wanted), but at wikigta they have very accurate maps that showtake-off and landing points. Also printer-friendly versions! Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/276207-unique-jump-help/#findComment-4206441 Share on other sites
