There is proof of this on the games website. If you go to the link below on this post, it has all the information there. Under Lance Vance it says that he recently arrived to Vice City with his "brother," it does not specify whether it is Victor Vance or Pete Vance. It does however list below that Victor Vance is the head of the Vance crime family and that the Vance crime family only cosists of Victor and Lance. If the two brothers recently arrived, this means that Pete did not come with them. This police report also proves that at the end of Vice City Stories Victor Vance did not stop dealing drugs, because he is the head of the Vance crime family. This is proof that he is in fact dead. If he wasn't dead, what would the boss of the Vance crime family be doing? This post has been completly changed because of more accurate information, all posts before my yellow post probably won't make much sense, just ignore them. Please give this a good topic rating so I can get this pinned and prevent anymore Pete Vs. Vic topics. Lance says, "Yeah and I'd like my dead brothers white lady." It just so happens that Lance and Vic's girlfriend hung out all the time. I truly think that Vic's girlfriend did not "like" Lance, but Lance did like her. Another quote from Lance was, "Quit treatin me like dat Tommy, mi brotha usda do dat." Think of the way Vic treats Lance in VCS. Another thing, Lance was always crooked, but Vic on the other hand only did this because he had to. Why would his brother have anything to do with drugs. I also keep seeing that it couldn't be Vic because Vic gave drug dealing up. He never gave it up before, Lance talked him in to things all of the time. This game had a weird story line, many of the gaps were not filled in correctly, seriously the player was meant to be Vic. Also it was diez who set Vic up to get killed in Vice City. We all know all Diez cares about is money. It just so happens that Vic deals with Diez in Vice City Stories? Seriously play Vice City and you will understand this. Why does this pop up in every single BBS since the game? We'll know when he is dead for sure when R* kills him off in a game right in front of our faces. I still remeber a thread from LCS stories with someone claiming he saw his name on a headstone. That thread went on for a month. Lets not do that here huh? BixDugan Posted April 24, 2007 Share Posted April 24, 2007 The only "proof" I have heard mentioned was that Rockstar, on a site for VC when it was released, mentioned that Lance's brother is killed in a drug deal at the beginning of the game. And the name Vic or Victor was the name of this brother. But I suppose that site is no longer available, and no one has saved a download from it, to verify this information. So its "hearsay". That's EXACTLY the proof I've been trying to tell everyone that thought Pete died in the drug deal. His name wouldn't be there if he wasn't in Vice City. The hundredth Vic/Pete died debate? But i am bored so here i am. Ok, we need to, as a group, get a grip on ourselves about this whole Vic can't be dead/Vic must be dead argument. Personally, i'm in the camp that says he wised up and retired to the bahamas but maybe made Lance think he was dead so he wouldn't bother him anymore... but this was prior to Vice City, where a post-expensive medical treatment Pete was killed in the deal. But that's my opinion. Anyone who wants to share it is welcome to, anyone who wants to disagree, by all means go ahead. I think Rockstar left this subject open enough that the player can decide whatever they want about the whole affair. For anyone to try posting "proof" of one side or the other is just a waste of time since there is no proof one way or the other. The whole subject is open to interpretation and at the end of the day it's up to the player to decide whether Vic dies in two years or whether he eventually retires and Pete takes his place as Lance's ill-fated cohort. The website lists the gang leader as Vic. if the gang involved the mob, they would list the mob leader, but not every single low-level man involved, that's just a waste. and Pete was exactly that, a low-level man. there's greater proof in the way the characters look. The character at the beginning of VC, and Vic in VCS look NOTHING alike. Changing the character who died is not as dumb as changing the way he looks beyond any recognition. That's what's dumb. And they never changed who died, they simply clarified. I think that is what R* meant to do, clarify who died at the beginning, but the lackluster intelligence of half this board has left everyone in an argument, and overcomplicating of a simple thing. Therefore HE must have been the man that was shot and killed. They wouldn't re-use Vic if it wasn't him in Vice City. Most people who say it's Pete are the ones who are in denial. They can't bear the thought of Vic being dead. Oh, and for those that say that Vic looks nothing like his VC rendition. First of all VC takes place a few years after VCS, and secondly if I remember correctly Jordan made a movie in the early days of VCS in which he simply swapped the clothes Victor was wearing and Vic did indeed look remarkably like his VCS rendition. Another thing is Vic was alive why wouldn't he be in VC at all. And don't say because he gave it up, because according to that police report he was still in the Vance Crime Family. The Leader of the Vance crime family is never in VC??? That police report is supposed to take place before you play the game, thats common sense. Why would they write Vic is dead before you ever play the game? That would be like putting Lance and Tommy on the police report for killing Diez, wouldn't be right. To shorten it up, if Vic is the leader of the Vance crime family then he would have been in the game affter the opening of the game.
