Car Engine Sound

Is there a way to change which engine sound the car makes without replacing the actual sound file? Theres got to be a file somewhere that tells which car which sound to make... help?

Afraid not. The only way to change the sound of a vehicle is to actually replace the original sound file with an altered or custom file.

 

In the sfx folder, none of the files are named so the only way to tell what each one is, is to listen to it. I'm sure theres a half completed(maybe a fully completed) list somewhere archiving which sfx corresponds to which car. But I dont know where to find it. You may have to try searching on google.

does anyone know where i can find the sfx sound for a police car in san andreas? ive downloaded the ghostbusters car and i want to change the police siren to the ghostbusters one.

Aye, as for finding the sound, you're gonna have to do some trial and error replacing. Afaik nobody has documented the sounds fully.

 

Still, at least it's a distinct noise you're looking for.

So nobody knows for example in which map (In the Genrl file ofcourse), for example the Fbirancher's enginesound is ? I just know that Buffalo's engine sound is in map "Bank 69" and "Bank 70"
