I know that there are clues in VC as to where the next GTA game was set, but were there any in GTA III signalling to VC? I was just thinking today after I saw a tropical poster in the savehouse on Portland.

I remember seeing a billboard in Staunton Island, saying something like "see you in Miami" and I know that Rockstar was going to name the next game Grand Theft Auto: Miami. So, I guess that's a resemblence.

I remember after the missions <spoiler Marked Man spoiler> <spoiler Ray spoiler> says on your pager "See you in Miami!"

Yes, but that with Ray is different! He escaped from Liberty City to go to Maiami! VC is in the 80's (thats a lot of years ago)

Yes but R* probably wanted to hint as to which game was next, it may have not specifically been meant to see him later in the Game's timeline.

Hang on, I was reading a magazine released around 1999, and it said that GTA: Miami was going to be released in a couple of months...

Yeah, I can't see them saying GTA: Miami will be released two years before III hit the shelves.

Speaking of billboards, there's the exact opposite in Vice City.

On the road near the airport you'll find a billboard showing Liberty City - in all of its GTA3 (2001) glory!

Screenshot linked here, it's only 640x480 (oh no!) but it's easily enough - I don't see the point of these 1MB+ 1280x1024 images at all, apart from wasting bandwidth!

There's also another opposite in the Ocean Beach save house, a poster with a very dominant looking Claude on it, but hell, I'm all over the place here.[/Maurice] I've tried searching on Google for them but I can't seem to find any. confused.gif

Is it possible that Rays pager "See you in Miami" wasn't an accident, and rockstar intend on making another Vice (Just like GTA4) except with Claude as the protagonist set in post 2000? O_o

That would be awesome but I liked the 1980's.

the poster next to the Airport said Pirate in Mans pants casino. Back in 2001 rockstar were thinking about SA.

Not necessarily, they could have just thought of the name in III and transfered it over to SA to establish a connection between the cities.

I know from the start when GTA 3 Liberty city was released in 2001 what the next games will be called because in the GTA 1 tree cities was Liberty city, Vice city and San Andreas so I presume what the next games will be called...
