Unique Jumps PS2

The "full lean" advice is a bit misleading. A "slight" lean forward will help to achieve a speed boost.

A full lean forward makes you stand up, and is good for stoppies, and steep terrain.

 

I know a guy that played all the GTA games, and did NOT learn about the speed boost til LCS. Remarkable that he 100%'d them...

Well, that's why the phrase 'full lean' as opposed to 'stick fully forward'. It is very challenging to get the max lean by pushing the stick just far enough without causing your guy to stand up. I use that to inform the reader that they must eke out as much lean as possible during the run.

I suspect he did, or he would probably have posted again. But did I read right that you did this one with a Biker Angel? If you nailed it in that old hog, very nice run on your part. I never even considered trying it in that.

Whenever I couldn't pull off a jump in LCS or VCS with a PCJ on the first few tries, I found that the BA is just that: Bad Ass.

 

Lots of low-end torque for good speed at the ramp. I also needed it for the jump over the floating restaurant and the jump over the road to Prawn Island. Probably the one over the toll booth in VicePort, too. Its super fast wide open too, especially when you give it a little lean forward. Things get very blurry!

Very interesting. I'll have to save myself a BA in this game so that I can run around redoing the jumps with it just for fun, kind of like last time I tried as many as possible in an Infernus just for the hell of it. I love stunt jumping in this game.

 

I did bonk on the LS airport one in SA, though, I admit. I finally got sick of failing, and went to SF to get a nitroused Bullet. Jump solved:) But if you never tried stunt jumps with a nitrous vehicle in SA, I highly recommend it. High adrenaline when you hear that POP as the nitrous kicks in.

Sorry dudes, i've not made the jump yet, but i have tried almost everything, cheetah, comet, sanchez, PCJ-600 and the unique jumps are all i have left to complete in the game for the 100%.

 

The longest distance i got was 40 metres in the cheetah and i still failed it.

dont go to hard... Its just in between.. Keep trying.. But dont go full-throttle.. I made this one by taking a little easier... You must land just behind the black line you can see on the rooftop,

 

Make sure you pull the stick a bit to the back when you jump, to gain altitute...

Mick, I think you can also make it going balls to the wall in a PCJ. The hard part is to get that good quality lean from the start of your run. My rule of thumb is if Vic's head is below the windscreen of the bike, I'm low enough. If it breaks the silhouette (in chase camera mode) he isn't low enough.

 

You could also cant your bike slightly forward at the top of your arc, so that your front wheel hits first. That will put your touchdown spot a little further forward.

 

If you haven't tried it in an Infernus, might also do that, but PCJ has the best acceleration in the game and this is a relatively short run.

I wouldn't even think of using a car on that jump. Some ramps don't work well with cars.

Yeah, thanks for that, i got it in the PCJ... and got the rest of 'em, so there is a difference between leaning forward (standing up) for a stoppie and leaning head down this was what did it for me i think, i've noticed that you can also do this on the jetski's as well for an extra speed boost.

 

I did check if i missed anything using the side missions list from gamefaqs (i missed playground on the point, so i had to do that one as well), but yeah, i got the 100%.

The lean is what often kills people. It's counter-intuitive. Intuitive would be: push the stick forward to lean over, pull it back to stand up or do a wheelie. I grant that it makes doing stoppies easier. But for gameplay purposes, making stoppies easier while making stunt jumping harder is based on the odd notion that players are excited about stoppies. Everyone raise your hands who does stoppies in his or her spare time on the game. Okay, now everyone raise your hands who will take any stunt jump, required or extracurricular that shows up in his or her path. Thought so.

 

And yes, you can do on the jetski what you do on a bike: it's the seaborne PCJ. One really slick jetski move comes when on the time trials, when by canting your jetski in the air after a jump you can control the way you point when you land. You feel like hot stuff when you drop it back in the water so accurately you don't need to turn in order to hit the next checkpoint. If there's one thing I wish they had more of in VCS, it's jetski missions and aquatic life. What about jetski rampages? More jumps? More races? They really only scratched the surface of this.

Way to go, Nick!

 

I think R* got the control system layed out just about as well as possible. You don't want it to be TOO easy.

How about some of you stunting pros make a few with the jetski?

There are ramps around the dock area that you could park a vehicle in front of to get some crazy rotation maybe.

I think the number one cause of failing this is brushing something (wall, pedestrian, etc). Number two cause is a bad lean; you must get a very good lean from the very first accelerating of the run. Number three cause would be ad hoc course corrections to avoid the number one cause.

 

Do try the Biker Angel. I've been doing all the jumps in VCE on it just for fun, and I'm surprised to find out how far that sucker flies. Unfortunately it's very fragile, so I go through a lot of them.

Oh yeah, I forgot to warn you. They blow up REAL GOOD!

 

Did you know that in VCS they added to the "insane stunt", "double insane stunt", etc, list?

Now you can get "Flaming" added to the description, like:

"Perfect Double Flaming Stunt".

 

Get the vehicle smoking badly, and hit a jump.

But yes, I learned that too. I came to look forward to it: the gloriously aflame landing where I bail from the bike at the latest possible moment to have it bounce and take its blast radius with it. Love the flamers, and we may as well be grateful the BA is such a Bic.

And completing a "Perfect Flaming Insane Jump" AT the White Stallionz, a gay biker bar, is TOO PERFECT!

 

Did you notice during "Bum Deal" that if you check out the bikers before entering the bar, they never take their eyes off you. Try walking behind them, and they turn thier heads. Its trippy, and I've never noticed such behavior on any other mission.

Ive tried the BA and PCJ-600.

 

I keep trying and get about 0.00000000000001 centimetres away from the line.

Heh, no doubt. I have a good friend I must show this situation to. The bike is even way over-decorated. They should have named that bar the Park In Rear.

 

I didn't notice the bikers in Bum Deal (although now that I think about that name, I begin to get the joke a little better). They should have put some dialogue in: "Look mighty cute in those leathers, boy..."
