JFizzle9191
Victor "Vic" Vance first had gay relations with Armando before they became enemies, this is hinted in some missions by Armando appeared in the opening cutscene of Vice City, in which he was was killed by gunmen during an ill-fated drug exchange with Tommy Vercetti, the sole surivior of the attack. In his first appearance, Victor speaks in a distinctly Lantin accent. Victor's death staged the rest of the game's events, forcing Vercetti to root out the men responsible and re-acquire the 20 k's of coke and money he lost. Vic Vance is the first playable protagonist in the GTA series to be killed off. - Wikipedia Vic is carrying the bags lance is in the helicopter. THAT MUTHA f*ckA DONT EVEN LOOK LIKE VIC!!! VIC DID NOT DIE HES A LIVE AND KICKIN IT
edscoble
he is dead you berk, character design from different GTA is unusually different for some reason, like how Phil look in GTA:VC to VCS. Edited May 9, 2007 by edscoble
VCNMaverick
Vic dies in VC. First of all, why would they put him on the VC website if he has nothing to do with the game? Also, don't bring up the difference in appearance. Look at Toni, compare his appearance in LCS to how he looks in III.
Hellisan
No it isnt lame. Besides I believe it is not Vic who died so I dont see that Vics Destiny is to day after few years. I agree. I watched the opening sequence of the original VC time after time, and I cannot understand why anybody would say it was Vic who died in that ambush. The person carrying the suitcases was a non-athletic guy with a strange sense of humor and a huge accent. Vic is a very in shape guy, no accent, and very serious. Definitely wouldn't be making jokes in a drug exchange. Simply was not vic who died.
Hellisan
There is no denying it. Exactly. All these people are in denial. They can't believe, and refuse to accept that Vic is dead. It's the first stage of grief, and yes it does happen quite commonly with fictional characters. I think that's silly to suggest. None of us care who dies in these games, as long as we can run around shooting things. I still don't think it was Vic, unless R* just decided to say "screw it" and totally change everything about Vic Vance to make him more playable. Or if they just weren't paying attention. I tend to not believe either of those.

Claude4Catalina
I admit, Vic is a cool character, and it is sad to see him die, but it gives it a little twist to the VCS storyline. And people do go back to places after 2 years, he didn't say never return the Vice City, and I watched the VC first missions again, and it is him who dies. CarpetDweller
In my opinion Vic is dead and I don't have a problem with it. When R* made GTA: Vice City they clearly intended that it was Vic who was killed. They only ever mention 2 brothers and these are named on the official website as Victor & Lance Vance. Lance continually refers to his motivation being the fact that his brother was killed in the opening cutscene. The website again makes this clear that there were only 2 members of the Vance gang - Lance and Victor. Therefore at the time of release of Vice City (the game) it was R*'s intention that Victor dies. Jump forward a few years and R* are now developing a series of PSP games based on the backstories of the current PS2 Triliogy. They need a character with an interesting story that won't affect anything already stated in VC, but can be developed and tie-in with other known characters. They could have chosen Mitch Baker, Diaz or a number of others, but they went with someone we know practically nothing about - except that he died and he is Lance's brother. This gives them a great freedom in what they can do with the story. Of course they are going to overhaul his character model slightly and get another voice actor. They did the same with lots of characters in LCS. But will people want to play as a character they know eventually dies... hmmm. The ending of VCS does nothing but enforce this view of Vic dying to me. They throwaway line about not being involved in Lance's plan for selling the drugs in 2 years. This is clearly a reference to the opening scene of VC and convinces me that Vic is indeed involved. He's told Lance that he doesn't want to be part of his stupid plans all through VCS and this is no different. It's an ironic joke to those that have already played VC. It's similar to the "Here's another fine mess you've got me in to" in Laurel & Hardy films. They still continue to get in further "fine messes". I'm also a believer in Maria's death in GTA3. To me this type of ironic ending perfectly sums up how I see R*'s humour. So, what's the problem with all this. Well it's Pete, isn't it. If they hadn't put Pete in, it would have all been clear to everyone. But they put him in VCS and start yet another plot device to divide the fans. Did Vic die or was it Pete? It was Vic in the last game, but has it been retconned? To those who believe Vic dies, Pete is simply there as motivation for Vic to continue doing jobs he doesn't want to do. To those who think he's alive he is the alternative death explanation they need. Chances are that both answers are correct. I wonder if everyone at R* even agree on this. We are no more likely to get confirmation either way than we are to find out if Maria died or where Donald Love went. It's just another thing to keep us guessing, arguing and talking about GTA. One thing to consider though. Many players have a strong liking for Salvatore. Some even talked of playing as a younger version of him in a future game. Yet Salvatore died when we were barely off the first island in GTA3. He lives on in our minds. He's a fictional character, we know exactly how he dies and we still enjoy watching the events of his life from before his death even with this knowledge. Everyone dies. The knowledge of this does not mean everything before is pointless. At least in fiction the past can be revisited. I'll finish as I started: In my opinion Vic is dead and I don't have a problem with it. Edited May 18, 2007 by carpetdweller

malibudance
I also don't think that it's Vic, Vic is slim. Pete is rather fat. And that Vic was a soldier. So he must be slim, and keep fit. I like american army. GI "YES, SIR". I'm crazy for this answer. And I like camouflage style, green, & MP cammo style. I was born to be a cop. cop's soul is in me. Also with military. they're both sitting in me since I became 7 years old.
