Picolini
Ok, here's my Porsche concept, I think it keeps up with their current designs. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/274541-porsche-call-it-a-day/page/2/#findComment-4194234 Share on other sites
*gta star*
First you complain that all Porsches look alike, and then get upset when they try something different? By 'different', I didn't mean make an SUV, instead of making a Sports car, that they could have made look different to other models. Come on, there's a big difference between an SUV and a Sports Car... Dup
The answer to this Porsche hilarity is simple yet hilarious. For example, let me illustrate: That's right, ugly oversized impractical hatchback saloon cars. That's where everyone else is going. Arguably these cars are a league below Porsche, but to be honest, Porsche have matching cars circa £30k which is about the price of these ugly things in full spec. All Porsche need to do is keep that recipie they so lovingly cling on to, and they're do well to stay in the market, as these similar perfoming machines in the same price brackets are well and truely minging. Either that, or Porsche make a car to rival the Civic Type Rs of this world, which would be quite special I think Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/274541-porsche-call-it-a-day/page/2/#findComment-4194842 Share on other sites
GT-1
Porsche is doing well, so therefore why fix what isn't broken? To counter that, how long can the Porsche brand retain it's exclusivity, desirability, prestige and reputation whilst simply cashing in on that current prestige without bringing anything new to the table? I disagree, Porsche owners used to consist of wealthy businessmen and the like, that was their target market. These days there seems to be a lack of an exclusive market, its branched further with every man and his dog having a Porsche. Thats not strictly true, but a mere example of where I believe things are heading. They still have a desirability to many (based on what Porsche once was), but its not a desirability other cars of the same category have. I would say they are falling into the Audi category, well known, but not known for supercars and along with this goes their prior prestige. Whilst you may think Audi are a good car company (they were but aren't anymore), they were never in the same league as Porsche, their target audience but was much wider. I'd say its breaking. @ ViceDog, I've been having a few discussions with people about this area and as a result when I posted the topic I felt the need to write what I did at the end, hell I even bolded it. You came along and posted about 10 pictures of Porsches' which added nothing to the topic. The "daddy owns a Porsche" comment was aimed at people who have posted that as an argument in the past, you saying you had been to a garage with daddy was still within what I said don't post. If you want to add something further, my PM box is always open for comments. ViceDog
Porsche is just trying to go along with the market. At the moment, the demand for SUV's is still quite high, and especially in 2002 when the Cayenne was first released the demand for SUV's was at an all time high. I agree with the fact that Porsche is losing its exclusivity, but doesn't that account for a lot of car brands out there? The first thing that comes to my mind then is Bentley. Back in the 90's, Bentley to me was an extremely rare and exclusive brand. But now? I see more Bentley Continental GT's and Flying Spur's than i am supposed to be seeing. I have the feeling that they are ruining the companies image, because i don't turn my head anymore when i see the Bentley logo. *gta star*
I don't see many Cayenne's around here to be honest, in Manchester, I see more Range Rover Sports and Mercedes ML class. Yeah to be honest because they aren't really all that rare anymore, I mean, i have to agree, I see alot of them now (especially in the city centre). I can actually see your point of ruining the companies image, this is certainly the case for Bentley.
