When I play GTA3 and when I'm in some place with a lot of objects (mainly trees) the video begin to cut so mutch!! Im with FX5500 128MB video, 512 RAM and 1.4Ghz proccesor and I think that is fully enough to play the game without problems like that! I reinstalled the game, and the problem is still there! I DON'T HAVE any viruse or spyware! PLS help me!

Go into your GTA3 options in the game and turn off the "trails" or the "frame limiter" option. When GTA3 came out Rockstar put options in the pc version of the game which not even the best card then could not support every option switched on and the best card then was the geforce 4 series.

I never play with "Trails", but still I have this problem

What about the frame limiter? That option is for high performing cards such as the GF 6 series and over that perform to smoothly which makes the game look fake and then must be turned on so it is less smooth. For you, I reccomend turning it off, and if no dice (Doesn't work) try turning down the draw distance. Good luck wink.gif

Only when I had SCSI in my system was I EVER able to play GTA3 with no lag. This suggests that it is a hard drive throughput issue. So if you haven't defragged in a while, do that. Today's PC's have SATA drives, which are much closer to SCSI throughputs than traditional IDE drives.

This is just the unfortunate truth of GTA3's inefficient programming.

There are things you can do to help yourself. Turning off the frame limiter is NOT one of them! All this will do is make the times you had no issues blaze right by you.

Look:

I defragment my hard drive EVERY WEEK !

i turned off the limiter. When I play wiith turned off frame limiter the peds and the cars are moving twice faster and when i drive fast the textures of the objects load slow! And when the framerate reach 200 it lags and gets back in less (20 or 30) and again to 200 and again and again !!! nervous.gif
