Where's Demarest's Pillager Tool?

I have been searching everywhere on these forums and on google.. Every mention of Demarest's Pillager tool points to a download site which no longer exists. Can anyone provide a working link?

Perhaps post this in whatever thread has the wrong link so the link can be fixed? It's release thread can be found in my sig and has been there since it was released.

I think you're really going to like it. I play SA to 100% quite a bit and I always use it. Saves a LOT of time having to go back and forth between a guide or an online site with only vicinity pictures and such. Plus let's face it: Getting 100 tags right away so the homies start carrying DE's is awesome.

 

Known issues: Do all the photo ops in one "session." Session meaning launching of SA. If you read the Pillager thread, you'll see I originally thought that photo ops wouldn't work properly. Turns out they do. BUT if you don't get them all, save, then shut down SA, when you load and choose photo ops, it will show where all 50 normally would be and not the ones you have yet to do. This is a side effect of the way they are handled and there's nothing I could do. It's only by chance that it in fact works at all in terms of the dots actually disappearing when you take the pictures. This MIGHT also mean that people introducing Pillager into games where some photo ops have already been taken might get all 50 dots too.

 

The other known issue is Horseshoes. For whatever reason, not all 50 dots show up at once. Whenever this happens to me, I get whichever marked ones I can, exit Pillager, save, then reload and choose Horseshoes again. All remaining ones get marked. Not at all sure why it works that way as it shouldn't.

Well that is the same link and it still doesn't work for me, Maybe because I am in China and a fair number of websites are not accesible through my ISP here

Time to switch carriers. If an Internet Service Provider refuses to Provide Internet Service, then your money is being wasted and may be the only way to get through to them that they need to do their job properly. Nothing about my site would land it on any blacklists for any reason. There's no porn or anything like that, nor do I use any advertisers, so it can't be that questionable content could appear that way. Simply put: There's no reason for any ISP to deny any of its users access to my website.

 

Have you called them to talk to them about this? I'm not usually one to use email at all and therefore never really give it out. I suppose I'd be willing to if I knew that you had at least given them a phonecall bitchslap for denying you access to a bunch of great tools

Yeah, unfortunately where I am even if I used dial up I would still be on the same ISP and there is no other choice here.. only chinanet. Only other option is cable and that company prolly has to go through chinanet too, but cable is not even available here in my location at present.

 

A good portion of websites timeout for me quite often when I know they are available to friends outside of China, if I persist they will eventually open ok. Your site however gives me a different error saying the server doesn't exist and to check routers and firewalls etc.. This is like sites that the Chinese government have blocked (for the time being).

 

Why would they block your site?!? Well having lived in China for 3 years now I know that there is no rhyme or reason to when they block what. It seems completely random, yeah it seems they just randomly block out large portions of the internet for no apparent reason.. Now if anyone in China wanted to find porn, or subversive political info, or world news regarding the Chinese government, or ANYTHING else, they would have no trouble at all finding what they were looking for. And if a couple of those questionable sites were blocked it would just be random chance that they blocked a couple because they just randomly block large portions of the net.

 

Also in China customer service is a very rare creature and even more so among businesses that have government sanctioned monopolies. I have Called them and written to them numerous times over the years, and will continue to do so as I have no other recourse. Howver at present it is such a massive, nation-wide, beauraucratic mess that I doubt I will ever get through to anyone who has any say in the matter.

 

Of course there was the big earthquake a while back that knocked out one of China's two major net connections to the outside world (for about a month we could mostly only access Chinese websites here). So it could be related to that I guess, allthough, again, that would mostly give me timeouts rather than immediatly saying the server doesn't exist.

 

When I was in mexico there were websites that I could never reach also, but I don't think it was the government deliberately blocking them out.. Just lousy networks and such. So considering the size of the world and the number of people in little towns who don't have many choices for ISPs, it seems that it wouldn't be a bad idea to upload your files to a secondary location for people to download..

 

I can understand your not liking to use email. I don't like to either and I never give out my email address..

I just want to check out pillager though so I'm open to any options.

I feel so bad for China. Your government treats you like slaves half of the time. I(f there is any webpage you cannot access and you know it to be foolishly blocked, send me a PM and I'll RAR up any site for offline viewing
